Is this a silly autograph idea...

DD had fun decorating the frames!

I did the 11x14 mat idea...but I only took it to the character meals...so not an all day hassle....

This year we are not doing a book. I went through all DD books and picked all her favorite stories. I am bringing them with us to have the characters sign them. Then everytime I read the books she will see the autographs and be able to remember our trip. Luckily she isn't into a lot of the characters, only the princess's and such. We will take our Disney beditime story book to let the rest sign.

We leave in 2..................days:banana:

I am a very crafty person & I love this idea! I have to admit I never thought of this just due to the size of the mats to carry around and this being our first trip coming up! I think I may be willing to carry around an awkward item for such beautiful results! The ones pictured look awesome! I like the pillow case too- (Now that I had thought of since it can be folded up)
Another idea is to have them sign a regular autograph sized page and then when you get home tear around the edges in the desired fashion you choose and mod podge them all in the way you like to a wooden frame or shadow box, or what have you that way you don't have to carry an awkward piece around...Can even be done so you have the double frame- one side with your child and pic of character and the other side the autograph- This would just take many double frames but great to have your child with favorite character and autograph's to go with and then you can even do a group shot of characters and then all their autographs on the other side "framed"- Wow! Now with all of the other planning and preparing I have and items to pack I have to jump on the necessary materials to bring for these great memory projects! Thx guys! Great post! :thumbsup2

That's a great idea about the double frames. I think I will try that with DD in May. I would love to get a pic of her with Cinderella and have her sign the other side.

I finally managed to upload some pics of the final product, after I got a picture framed in the mat. I just love how it came out.

Also, I was carrying around a messenger type bag so it fit perfectly. It was the exact size of the bag. Not a hassle at all:thumbsup2

Awww, thank you:) This was the only picture of all of us that the kids are actually looking AT the camera. I would have preferred one in front of the castle or SE or something like that but hey, I'll take what I can get!

Chef Mickey's was a blast, BTW!

I really like the photo mat, cute idea.

I wonder ... I have one year old twins, a DD age 7 and DD age 3. I know both of the girls will want autograph books .... If I buy a mat would some of the same characters mind signing that too, I could say it was for the boys? I don't want to hog all of their time!

We put our photo mat in a gallon ziploc bag just in case it rained or anything & it worked out perfect!

Did you use a special mat? If so, where did you find it?

I just bought ones at Hobby Lobby and am now wondering if they will work okay?

For the character meals - are the pics taken protrait (not landscpaed?) Want to make sure I orient the mat properly.

Thanks for all the tips - like the one about using hte painters tape, and also the zip lock bag. Will ned to do that.

I didn't use any special mat - just a nice frame I found at Michael's or Kohl's or somewhere - something I knew would work in my living room. I got the mat at Michaels or AC Moore to fit the frame. I did look for a specific shade of white (I was oddly obsessed, I have no idea why!) I used Sharpie markers - like the 30 color pack - so there was lots of color to it. But, we were on the cruise and you just leave it at the desk - I didn't need to haul anything around the parks.
