Is this a new thing? And WHY?

I do if I"m in the house cooking or using the computer or the car driving, but I don't in public. I won't wear a blue tooth either because that just looks like a crazy person talking to themself.

Even landline speaker phones have to be turned up loud and you have to speak louder into them as well. My boss is terrible about this. It's not unusual for him to be yammering away in his office and someone else comes by to close his door :lmao:
This is one thing that drives me crazy about my DH. He takes a lot of work calls and always thinks that he needs to yell into the phone. I tell him that he doesn't have to worry about how far away they are. :rotfl: He doesn't do that when he is on a personal call for some reason.

My DH does this - not so much out in public but in the car with me and the kids or around the house. Drives me nuts! I don't want to hear the whole conversation and I hate having to tiptoe around because he's on the phone. I also hate being on the other end because when he does this its really hard to hear him, he tends to put the phone down and walk around while he's talking! Now I just turn up the TV when he does it and force him to take it into the other room ;)

I only do it in public when my kids want to talk to someone, usually grandma or grandpa. I have to translate the entire conversation. ;)

The speakerphone bit is annoying because the person on the other end is unintelligible squawking. Same reason why I hated those nextel walkie-talkie phones back then. I don't see how one could understand what was being said. :confused3
