Is this a good rate or should I keep looking?

When we went to WDW in May, I reserved an Intermediate car (Oldsmobile Alero) from National for two weeks for $254 total. Now, the best rate I have been able to get is $325.07 total for two weeks. Do you think that this is a good rate or should I keep looking? Any suggestions on where we can get a car cheaper? We have two adults going and two children ages 2.5 and 1, so we will need a car that has enough room for our luggage and two car seats.

Thanks and have a great week!

I would go to www.rentalcodes.com. They keep a list of all the major car rental companies along with all the current specials and coupon offers. In August I got the Dollar $119.00 weekly rate. Then register for Dollar's Fastlane. This is an express in/out service. After registering they sent me 2 coupons good for a free car class upgrade. We ended up with a Dodge Stratus for $119.00. At the time no other companies were even close. I received excellent customer service from them. I would not hestiate to go it again!

If that 254 for 2 weeks including all the fees IT'S A GREAT RATE (sounds like $99 /week) You're probably wasting your time looking for a better rate.

Even if it doesn't include fees $126/week is a pretty good rate.

That was a great rate that I got in May! Unfortunately, the rate I have now is almost $100 more than that. That is why we are still car rental shopping for our trip at the end of the month. The rate I have now is $325.07 for an Oldsmobile Alero for two weeks. So, we will continue searching......Thanks for your reply!

Have you tried coupons. The Sam's Club and BJ's both offer member discounts for National. Also when I telephoned to make my reservation for August the clerk told me they were sold out of the limited number of vehicles available for the promotion. However, when I went to the Dollar web page I was able to get the reservation for the $119.00 a week. We had a 2 week stay in fla. I had the car the first day: pick up MCO then drop off at DD Merriott. Get the car 1 day stop at the store get what you need for the week They will give you shuttle service back to your Disney hotel free. Then the second week I moved to my time share. Dollar picked me up @ Carribearn took me to DD Merriott and dropped off at MCO. All downtown Disney hotels and Disney hotels offer shuttle service to the parks. Maybe consider using shuttle service 1 week and car rental the other. Saved me money! Good Luck !
