I need a flight to Orlando and westjet yesterday (I hope still today) had it for $1000 for the 3 of us out of Pearson. Is that probably the best deal I'll get? Its for september but I hate to leave it to the end and not get anythingbetter then. KWIM

If you are able to drive to Buffalo I would suggest that as I will no longer fly from Toronto even at the exchange rates lately it is still cheaper..... you have to look at Southwest and AirTran and even Jetblue..... I am paying about 109.00each way per person in US funds right now..... I have seen them as low as 72.00 each way ..... last year we got them on Southwest for 59.00 each way Direct Flights.....

i think if that price includes all taxes it is not a bad price. I ususally get a price with SW for about $109 too each way, but now add on exchange rate of 25% it not as good a deal. Buffalo would probably be still cheaper, but figure in other expensed-how far you need to drive or if you need to get a hotel, etc.

DH refused to fly out of buffalo, we love the convenience of Pearson, even though their taxes are higher but atleast we get there in 30 mins and we get home in 30 mins since we park right at the terminal.
I thought $1000, which includes the taxes was a good deal.
Okay off to book!

You know, it baffles me when people talk about taxes and fees when flying from Canada to the US.

This is what we recently paid for taxes/fees for our flights from Edmonton to Orlando:

Taxes, Fees and Charges
Canada Airport Improvement Fee 15.00
U.S.A Transportation Tax 41.06
U.S Agriculture Fee 6.37
Air Travellers Security Charge (ATSC) 7.94
U.S Passenger Facility Charge 5.74
September 11 Security Fee 9.57
U.S.A Immigration User Fee 8.92

Look at all the US levied fees. Don't you pay any of these when flying within the US? I can see saving the Immigration fee, but the others like the Transportation and Sept 11 fees?

Just wondering? :confused3

It's not necessarily flying out of Canada but flying out of TORONTO!!:headache:

On a flight from Toronto to Orlando we pay anywhere from $187.00 to about $250.00 in TAXES depending on which arline you choose.:scared1:

We are flying out Buffalo in a few weeks and are paying $38.00US in taxes. The taxes saved from flying out of Buffalo vs Toronto is basically paying the way for one person return. Yes it will be a 3am morning but coffee works wonders:eek:

$1000.00 is good for 3 flying out of Pearson.
We are like you, my DH will not fly out of Buffulo, likes the 10min. drive to Pearson. I am always on looking for the best deal.

I could never do that. Even coffee wouldn't help me:lmao:

The price for my seats were $684 for the 3 of us and the taxes were $424!

Had to laugh because my DH would refuse to fly out of Pearson even though we are only about 30 min away. He would insist on flying out of Buffalo for the cost factor.

We are flying in May for a total of about $300US including the taxes for the two of us return. Can't really beat $150US each.

Yeah I know - we are about 2.5 hrs from Buffalo airport and we have a 7:10am flight. I guess I am just picky about getting Disney and still having most of the day there. We are paying just over $350 for 2 of us out of Buffalo taxes in. Still trying to talk DH into going down the night before but being a Sat night all the hotel prices are about $110US a night near the airport plus you still need to pay for parking.

$1100 for 3 people taxes in and seat selection is a great deal! I am assuming non-stop (which many of these posts don't identify). If you got these flights direct for less than $400 taxes in - you got a great deal!

I love flying AC out of Pearson to Orlando (except that ME won't load the bags on your return).

We flew out of Buffalo and on our return (granted March Break) we were 2 hours on the bridge trying to get back! So it took 4.5 hours to get home!!

Yes its direct, is there any other way;) DH does not like connecting flights and honestly I don't either. I am trying to find a good priced air ticket to Portugal for the summer and alot are connecting flights...NO THANKS!

I really do like AC but they were close to $2000, I think it was about $1800 when I checked last. Its only a 2.5 hour flight so Westjet will do just fine;)

Usually they the hotel lets you park for a week with every night you stay there and they provide a shuttle. I'd look into that a bit more.
