Is this a good plan?

Sorry in advance for the length. While we are still several months away from our June trip we seem to have honed in on our ADR’s and would appreciate any comments. It has been almost 9 years since our last trip, so all of these restaurants will be new to all or most of us.

As background we are traveling with a party of 9 (2 adults and 7 kids ages 15 to 3). Everyone had a little input, but since most of the kids are not very adventurous eaters they didn’t much care. Since we are staying at BLT and will have a kitchen we will generally eat breakfast in the room. The kids get up at different times with the little ones typically up earlier. We can feed them and have them ready to go while the teenagers are still getting moving. With parks opening at 9am we should have no problem getting there at or near RD. We wantto take advantage of the lesser morning crowds. We generally plan on one TS meal per day and will stay flexible with the other meal and snacks. Maybe at the Park, maybe back at the resort.

So here’s the plan – at least for now.

Arrival Day –
Dinner at Chef Mickey’s (it’s at the resort so we can still get everyone settled in relative early and what better way to start Disney than with the Big 5)

Park Day 1 (MK)
Breakfast at Crystal Palace (8:10am; I almost booked lunch instead for a mid-day break, and because this would mean two character buffets back-to-back. But the benefit of getting into the park early swayed me.)

Park Day 2 (Epcot) Dinner at Via Napoli (with 7 kids you can’t go wrong with Pizza) – We may cancel this and met some friends that live in Orlando on the Boardwalk. Boardwalk restaurant suggestions anyone?

Day 3 (Resort in the morning with MK later in the afternoon)Dinner at CRT (4 little princesses 10 and under) princess:

Day 4 (DHS)Lunch at Sci-Fi Diner (not sure how late we will stay at DHS as we do not plan to do Fantasmic!, so lunch works well. The teenagers liked the idea of this place, but how will they seat a party of 9? Separate tables?)

Day 5 (AK)Depending on Day 2 we may meet our friends at the Boardwalk this night or go back to Epcot in the evening for Dinner at Via Napoli (if we missed it on Day 2 – remember, 7 kids and pizza)

Day 6 (No advance plans)We will use this day to do things we want to do again, or missed previously. Not sure if we will try to add an ADR here, maybe for our last night. Suggestions.

Departure DayHitting the road early!

I haven't done Via Napoli or Sci Fi, but I think you plan looks great for your group.

We love the early entry ADR at MK, every princess needs to go to CRT at least once and there is no better way to get in the Disney spirit than Chef Mickey's (especially when you can walk over from your room).

Have a great trip. We may be there at the same time. We will be there from June 1-9.

Looks good except for the meal at Sci Fi. Every time we've eaten there, there has been some sort of problem. Just not a good place to eat in my opinion. I'd plan on eating somewhere else if I were you.

Thanks. We arrive on the 7th, so we only briefly overlap. Hope you have a great trip as well. :woohoo:

I have seen some mixed reviews. We may look at some other options, although I did not care for 50's last time either. :confused3 Thanks for the tip.

Akershus Princess Storybook character meal at Epcot is a really good option, too, since your family is into the Princesses. In fact, we actually liked it better (character interaction and food) than CRT. I know, I know it isn't in the castle!!! But, you could consider that instead of one of your Via Napoli's and then either have 2 princess meals or do something different at MK instead of CRT. (It's just a suggestion-----i'm totally for taking the princesses to the castle to eat!) But, to contradict everything I've just said...Via Napoli is my absolute favorite at Disney World, so I would totally do that twice!

I would not go to the scifi. The quality of food there is awful, and I would definitely recommend 50s prime time cafe instead. It's a great atmosphere, delicious food, just overall amazing. :)))

Everybody's dining choices are quite personal and objective. I personally might not make the same choices based on our families preferences. (I have boys so princess dining is OUT! LOL)

However, the Sci-Fi seating doesn't seem to be for groups. If you really want to dine together it wouldn't work. Everyone is facing one way and looking at a movie screen. If you just want to be in the same spot (and hey I totally understand that...sometimes there is too much togetherness:rotfl2:) then it would work.

If sci fi set-up isn't what you were looking for, I could see a big group having fun at 50's.

Looks great to me! I'm not expert though. But maybe your last day go to DTD if you're not doing a Park. My kids love going there and they really enjoyed T-Rex. We're not doing it this trip, we're doing Raglan Road. I've heard awesome things about it. :)
