We are thinking of making an offer on this resale. It is the same use year as our current contract. We are looking for a 100 pt. add-on. We have no intention on going back until next March, so I do not need the points immediately. Is it really worth $70/pt considering no points are available until 6/05. Here's the deal:

Due to borrowing, 100 points available on 6/1/05 which can be borrowed beginning 6/1/04. Priced at $70/pt

Let me know what y'all think!!!!:cool1:

I'm sure others will give you some better insight, but if that is the exact amount of points you wanted AND the same use year I think that is great.

which resort - bwv or bcv or VWL - I think it is a good deal

VB, HH or oKW - no - offer less

It could be - it's the same use year, home resort and the numbr of points you want, right? $70 seems a good price to me and will hopefully pass Disney's ROFR.

My advice is to make an offer that includes the seller paying 2004 maintenance dues and a portion of the dues for 2005 (dues for any points that are not available on 6/1/2005. For example, if the contract is for 150 points and there are only 100 available on 6/1/2005, ask the seller to pay for the 50 points he/she already used out of the 2005 allotment).

You could ask the seller to pay closing costs, too.

If the offer is unacceptable to the seller, perhaps he/she will counter offer. I would never pay dues on points I don't get unless I really, really wanted that particular contract and/or was unwilling to wait for another one. JMHO. YMMV.

Good luck!

They are for OKW, our home resort. No points available until 6/05, but you can borrow those. So, with having NONE at my disposal until then, what would you suggest the seller pay for? I shouldn't have to pay for dues for points that I cannot have. I remember when we bought our initial contract resale in April 2000, we paid $52 a point. Boy, things sure have changed in 4 years!

I know DH was big on doing an add-on, but gosh how do I break the news to him that I found one so fast? He may think I'm on to something!! Plus, we are getting all of our electrical stuff updated so that will be more $$ out the window. $7000 is a lot.
