Is this a good deal?

Hi,

I'm new to this board and have never been to WDW. I'm planning to go for 7 nights between May 5 and May 12.

I need some opinions on whether these quotes are a good deal or not.

7 nights Dream Maker - Pop Century - $1060 USD

or

7 nights Dream Maker - Port Orleans - $1380 USD

These are already the 'at par' discounted rates.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I too have never been to WDW. We are heading there 02-17-04 to 02-21-04. We paid $1810USD for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids) at AKL (no flight). This is a "Savanah view" room. This was purchased using our Visa card, promo for Canadians. Use your Visa Card and get everthing "Canadian @ par". Without this promo, just WDW would have cost us $2540USD, that does not include flight from Detroit....I think we got a good deal....Sounds to me that you got a good deal as well....I don't see how you can go wrong with the Visa card eal right now....we saved ourselves just over $700USD....

Have fun....

ode.

:bounce: Hi fellow Canuks. Don't want to spoil your vacation but I never pay even close to these $ but I book off site so can't comment on the "disney magic". Do the prices include tickets??

I stay in rented 2BR timeshares condos> Staying 6 weeks this year. Average cost is $525U.S. per 7 nights tax incl. This is room only. No flight (we drive) and no tickets. (Get free tickets by taking Timeshare tours)

We were at POR for 8 days in August and just loved it! I have not been to POP, but I think it looks pretty neat as well. When we go to WDW, we prefer to stay in a moderate (next trip in a deluxe... woohoo!), this is just because they seem to be quieter and I find the theming to be better. Either choice would be great (Hey, you'd be at WDW!), but my advice would be to go with the moderate - only because the next time you plan a trip, the discount might not be as good and your budget may only allow for a value resort.

We too booked with the CDN@par deal and it saved us about $1000 US - you just can't beat the deal.

Good luck making your choice - either place will be fun!

Hi Van. With the 7 day tickets for 4 and Cdn at Par sounds good.
We go for several weeks each year so do not do the marathon disney thing. Usually only 1 park for a couple of days each year. We go for the rays and relaxation. It is -22C. today and has been colder. Glad my counter is where it is. Have fun.

I think you have a good deal if passes are included.

Ap rate is $116.US a night which would be $812.US $1071.84 CA for 7 nights.
Then when you add the cost of passes which is over $400.Ca per adult for 7 nights
