just curious if y'all think this is a good deal. I don't book our flights and have never done a rental car. Package through American air vacations
from Baltimore to MCO 11/28-12/8 non stop round trip with a full size rental from Alamo at MCO for $1057 plus tax. I already booked but am in window to cancel. Any thoughts?

Is this for one person? Several?

Also, you really should just check the regular flight and rental car flights separately (go to the company's web site) to see if its really a deal.

For reference, my family of three flies from DCA to MCO for $200 to $260 per person, depending on the season. Our full size rental (we usually pick an SUV) averages about $300 for a week.

That's really good. You sure that's all taxes and fees too? I'll have to check this out. We're paying about the same for 2 people, car and 8 days. Flying Southwest.

I can fly nonstop from CT for less than $200 pp. I would think less from Baltimore. So airfare should be under $800 total. Not super familiar with rentals but $400+ seems a lot to me.

Flying the Monday after thanksgiving rates are crazy high right now. 11 day car rental I was seeing from 300-500 for full size. I got nervous and booked it. South west fares are crazy high for that Monday.

Yes, you do have to have nerves of steel with SWA. I was able to book my daughters flight back to MCO on the Tuesday after thanksgiving for $104. I'm expecting to get that down to $95. But if you don't have any flexibility, it's hard. If you are satisfied with the price, don't look, don't ask, just go and have a wonderful trip!

My thinking was 11 day full size car rental is 400 dollars at Mco. If I Waite for a deal on the car I could get it down to 300 most likely. So after subtracting that from the total the flight would be 189.25 pp plus tax round trip.

So that should be more like $1100 with all the taxes, sounds like a good price to me!

So $232 pp. again, if you are good at that price, stop looking. If you find a lower price you can't take advantage of, what good does it do you? IMHO that price is high. If you are willing to play the waiting game, you may do better on SWA (remember to look on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for lower fares, never weekends) but you may not. You have to decide what works for you. And it would help to know what a good RT fare is from BWI to MCO so you can compare

I just checked SWA 11/29 to 12/8 for 4. The return flights at only $70-75 each with all taxes & fees. If you fly out on 11/29 instead of the 28th, flights are $103. That's $173-178 total pp. a savings of $55 each

You could also fly back on 12/9 to keep the trip the same length for the same price. Picking random nonstops 11/29 to 12/9. I get a total with tax & fees of $678 for 4. That might even be less if you wait til Tuesday or Wednesday to book.
But you are looking to check in for free dining aren't you. Just realized that. Hmm, you still might do better than $232 pp on SWA.

Yes last day of free dining check in. At this point I'm moments away from cancelation period. I'm just going to keep it I think. Getting the car for 11 days for 300 may be even a challenge so technically it could work out to be the same if south west price comes down.
