Ive booked many trips to disney before but never for 7 ppl so i need so advice...

the group is 7 ppl, 4 adults (one of the kids is 10), 2 kids (7 adn 3) and 1 baby (1 1/2)
We were planning on January 2-8 2009 adn this is what we got budget wise:
Hotel:
2 rooms at CBR (preferred) with AAA discount will probably come out to around $1900 or something close to that
7 day PH tickets (4 adults adn 2 kids) is about $1700 i think with tax (im not sure about tax)
Airfare is $1498 for 7 tickets round trip
and we were budgeting about $4000 for food

so we came up with about $9000 for hotel, airfare, tickets adn food for 6 nights/7 days adn 7 ppl
Does this sound like a good deal or does it seem like too much?
The family id be going with has never gone before and ive never planned for more than 4 ppl before so im not sure of what a good deal would be and i want to make sure to get the best deal we can

Your lodging looks good. It looks like you're spending less than about $160/night for a room.

Park tickets...it is what it is. You can't do too much about that except cut out the hopper part.

Transportation...have you purchased the tickets yet? I'm guessing your airfare is just over $200. Do you think your carrier will go down at all? It's really hard to tell. I would say probably not, but I keep gettting DINGS from Southwest all the time. If everyone in your party is good with that price I might go ahead with it, just in case it goes up!

Food...I think $4,000 is way too much. Have you looked into the dining plan? I'm just estimating here, but if you plan on $40/day (just as a round number, about the cost of the adult dining plan per day) for everyone except the baby (he/she will pay about $10/day) you're looking at $40x6=$240/day for the adults. $240/day x 6 nights=$1440. Add into that the baby's portion and tips, drinks, extra snacks, etc...and you're still looking at quite a bit less.

Granted, it's late and I'm crossed-eyed at this point, but I think you could tweak the "food" budget a bit. Good luck!! :goodvibes

I think your budget looks great, you have budgeted way too much for food. If you got the dining plan as the previous poster said, you would be looking at less than $1400, and you get a lot of food on the plan. Then you might want to budget in extras such as little things the kids want, and set a limit for each kid so things dont get out of control:bitelip: . Have fun!

thanks!! yeah i wasnt sure about the food
so if we do the dining plan with some OOP extras, $2000 sounds like a better number?
Thats great! that would put out budget at about $7000 instead of $9000:cool1: but than knowing these kids, they'll end up spending that $2000 on souveniers:rotfl:

Im' not sure HOW you could spend $4000 on food. You are wayyyy over budgeted for that. The meal plan would be about $180/day. Then, even if you budgeted in an extra $10/day pp for extra snacks or whatever, you're still way under $4k.
