Is this a good deal for Royal Pacific?

I will be taking my first trip to Universal Orlando June 9th-14th. I found an all inclusive package through US Airways that includes (this is for 2 adults)

5 nights at the Royal Pacific
Round trip air from Phoenix to Orlando
2 7-day tickets to Universal

The total cost is $1776. Does this sound like a good deal?

Thanks for your input!

Sounds expensive to me, but it depends upon your airfare.

I did some checking and here's one strategy you could try:
1. Buy a preferred annual pass for $229.99 w/tax $17.10 total $247.09.
2. Use the preferred annual pass to get discount on your room. APH rate for your trip is $139.00 for June 9 & 10, $149.00 for June 11, and $169.00 for June 12 & 13. Total w/out tax: $765.00. Estimated total w/tax: $860.63.
3. Additional 7-day ticket: $99.99 w/tax $8.65 total $108.64
4. Estimated total of Preferred AP, Hotel room and extra 7-day ticket: $1216.36.
5. That leaves you a difference of about $550. If rt airfare for 2, between Phoenix and Orlando, is less than $550, you might think about doing this.

If you decide to do this, book your room before purchasing the preferred AP to guarantee that you can get the AP rate, as there's a limited availability for the AP rate. You don't need the Preferred AP when booking the room, but you will need it when checking in. Once you have a Preferred AP, you can use it to get discounts on food and souveniers at the parks and Citywalk.

Another option is the Super Saver Rate. With this option, you don't need to buy an annual pass. I checked its price breakdown and it's comes out to this:
1. Hotel Room: $186.75 June 9 & 10 & 11, 201.75 June 12 & 13. Total w/out tax: $963.75. Estimated total w/tax: $1084.22.
2. Two 7-day ticket: Total w/ tax: $108.64 (each) *2 = $217.28
3. Estimated total for hotel Super Saver Rate with 2 7-day tickets: $1301.50
4. That leaves a difference of about $470.00. As with the first option, depending upon rt airfare for 2, this might or might not be a better deal.

Hopefully, I haven't confused you and have help you save some money on your upcoming trip!

Thank you so much for taking the time to put this information together :worship:

I'm going to get to work trying to find r/t airfare for less than $550. So far, the best I have been able to find is $556. Maybe I just need to move closer to Florida :3dglasses

Goodluck! It seems like the airlines are dealing with the bad economy by cutting flights while increasing rates.

I know you'd think fly it, they will come would earn them more $--they'd just rather park the planes in a field and raise prices. Go figure.

I was just in US/IOA last week of April and stayed at the Hard Rock. We paid:

$900 for the hotel
$200 for 2 7 day unlimited tickets (bought through AAA)
$400 for airfare for 2

Total = $1500 (there were three of us but I just left off the airfare for one of us and I had a free ticket).

I'd say the price of $1,776 is definitely in the ball park. We got lucky and got really inexpensive airfare ($74/each way).

We are going June 21 for 5 nights. Here are our totals for 3 people:

Hotel (Royal Pacific) $830 (tax included)
Airfare with AirTran $648.60 (from St. Louis)
Tickets for 3 $300

Total $1778

Oh, I had never added it all up before.

The plane tickets are what are hitting us hard too cause just me and DW this year and ours work out like this
RPR for 7 days 6/21-6/28 $1135.20
2 tickets 7 day 2 park unlimited 206.64
plane tickets (delta) $764.80
For a total of $2106.64

We are lucky we do not need the plane tickets due to being close.

RPR 7 nights at $1132
AP passes for 3 $0
Sea world tickets for 3 $210
Minivan rental for 9 days $245 (I hate taking my new car to be left in the parking lot, want a vacaton from everything);)
Parking at RPR and SW $125
Food budget $1050

Total $2762
Thinking of adding the 7 hour VIP tour at SW for 3 people at $125 per person.

We budgeted $3500 so we are doing good.:thumbsup2

Went ahead and booked this package because I couldn't find cheaper airfare. Could have gone for a less expensive place to stay but, we don't get out to Florida that often so we might as well go all out! Thanks everyone for sharing your rates!

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the hotel rate used with the airline package was at the Super Saver rate.

We staying at PBH and we're not flying but here's our cost/budget for June trip. Includes me, DH and 14 year old son.

PBH - 6 nights - $1365.00 (tax included) - SS 201.53 per night bay view
PBH - 6 nights parking - $90.00
Universal & Blue Man Group Combo Tickets - 3 adults - $501.66
Discovery Cove Dolphin Swim (Sea World 7 day pass included) - 3 adults -$763.62 (saved $150.00 w/early booking special)
Sea World parking - $25.00
Driving - 12 hrs - Gas - $150.00 (guessing higher since rates are going up)
Food - $1000.00 (don't expect to spend that much, but like to have a cushion)

$3900.00 total - budgeting $4,000.00. We don't spend much on extras so I think we'll make it.

This is much more than what we spent on our Disney trip 2 years ago. Granted we stayed in a moderate and didn't do Discovery Cove, so that makes some difference. I think that WDW trip was about $2500.00 in total including room, tickets, TS dining plan & gas. This trip we just kept adding extra entertainment, so its become quite expensive.

Our original plan was to go in Oct for the halloween festivities, but the room rates for June lured us in and gave us the opportunity to try out PBH. :cloud9

Well between Discovery Cove an Blue Man you have about $1000 extra right there.

I know:rolleyes: Discovery Cove & Sea World is a huge chunk. We've heard so many good reviews about DC, I couldn't pass it up this trip since we may not be back on vacation in the Orlando area for a few years.

The Universal and BMG combo ticket cost is almost the same as what we spent on tickets at Disney, if not less. We done the Mickey Halloween hard ticket there as well.

Overall, I think Disney is cheaper onsite than Universal depending on which resort you stay at given that there are more WDW parks, etc. included. I believe though that my family will like Universal better, they didn't want to go back to Disney this soon. Also, from what I read you can't beat Universals onsite hotels, so the cost will be worth it. :cloud9:

I just got back from a stay at the Hard Rock and have stayed on-site at WDW in value (All Star Movies & Music) and deluxe (Polynesian & Contemporary) hotels. The Universal on-site hotels are definitely better.:thumbsup2

We use to stay at the Doubletree every year but last year we stayed at RPR for three days and now DW doesn't want to go back if we can't stay at RPR.
So I guess you can say shes hooked :lmao:
