Is this a dealbreaker for anyone else??

For our family, no, it's not a deal breaker. My reasoning is that if I book a garden wing room at the CR, I know that there is a chance that I may not get a patio. So, I weigh the benefits of staying there which for us is the WALK to MK with a very reasonably priced monorail resort room. While I haben't stayed at the Poly, we visit often, usually every trip. I am always surprised with the amount of rooms which do not have a balcony. It's not just a few. I don't get a price break on one of those rooms (poly is always much higher when we have tried to book). I can't walk to the MK. So for us, that's the deal breaker.

It's not a deal breaker for me. But if you really want one I wouldn't pick the Polynesian over CR. Like others have already said there is a strong possibility that you won't get a balcony at the Polynesian.

Yes, we really like having a balcony at WDW. It just adds to the resort/relaxation feeling for us. In that regard, I'd choose Poly over CRGW... but make sure to request a balcony at the Poly... and if you don't get it your first night, you could probably ask to move the next day.

It is not a deal breaker for us if we don't get a balcony. We have stayed at the BC and didn't get a balcony several times. We never really missed it too much. The easy access to Epcot and the boat to HS made up for it.

I am surprised by how much people are mentioning that they havent got a balcony at poly...that is the first I have heard of it! good thing or I may not have booked there our last trip and we loved it!!!

I guess it will come down to price...we tend to be at the MK all day when we go there so those days we won't use a balcony...hoping for good discounts...

what is a good price for garden wing??

I stayed in a BLT studio early last month. All winter I had visions of sitting out on the balcony taking in the warmth. I even got my requested north side with a park & lake view. Problem was it was too cold and windy to ever sit out.

It would be a deal breaker for me. If I am paying the big bucks for a deluxe, it must have two things: alternate transportation other than buses to at least one park (AKL is out) and a balcony/patio. Otherwise, moderates suit us just fine.

Not a deal breaker, as there are very few resorts that will guarantee you get a balcony or patio.

TOTAL deal breaker for me. I also have two young ones so I need the space for bedtimes and nap times. Stayed most recently at BLT (fabulous balconies) and YC which both ad nice outdoor space. My kids will not sleep if te can see me and I really love nap/sleep time with my kindle and a drink on the balcony!!! Don't care if I have a view, just need the space!

Dealer breaker for me. I have to have a balcony so I am stuck paying for deluxe! When we stayed at Poly, I asked for ground level and got a patio. I never noticed that there are rooms w/o a balcony(I should look around more!) there so I'm glad I got first floor! I love the proximity to the MK with Deluxe-and that plus the balcony is what keeps me going at that level.
WL is next! Love the boat rides.

Complete deal breaker. One of main reasons I don't book beach club anymore bc of balcony stress. Absolutely love yc and even in hot summer I sit on balcony in morning or late night to admire view . I absolutely need a balcony and wouldn't stay without one. Nice ace to talk on phone privately or just relax a few minutes

It would be for me. Considering the price you pay for deluxes, I would want and expect a balcony.

Haven't stayed deluxe, don't plan to, but I didn't realize not all deluxes have balconies. Learn something new every day!

I am now debating between garden wing or tower room...I would only do tower room if we could afford theme park view....I have two thoughts on it, one we are not in the room a lot so garden wing would be great to be close to MK, two we are only doing four nights so might be only time to splurge on theme park view....augh decisions.

I do like having a balcony to sit outside while our kids are asleep! mind you when we stayed at the poly we all crashed at the same time!!!

I noticed you have stayed at the CR....did you book tower?? what view?? I am so torn over what to do ?!?!?!

For what disney charges for delux resorts, you should look into either paying cash or buy ing DVC points off a dvc member and booking at a DVC resort.

Its just me but you get a nicer room for less price.

Not all rooms at WL have balconies, though. Be sure to request one!

I looked into this and I cant get the numbers to work in my favour...who do you book through? I am assuming you are talking about renting for BLT?

If you post in the DVC threads on here, there are people all the time willing and needing to rent points out. Usually about $10/point. The cost would be far far less than booking it with cash.
