Is this a crazy strategy

I have 11 points left, some of which I will lose if I don't use them on our trip in March. I'd really like to get a standard view studio at BWV (14 points) for my DM on 3/16 but its fully booked and because I only have 11 points I can't waitlist.

Would it be crazy (or even possible) to book a studio at OKW (14 points) for a different day 3/22, buy the extra 3 OTU points and then waitlist for 3/16 at BWV?

If I reserve 3/22, it could be used by my relatives who are returning to Orlando before a flight so it wouldn't be wasted. However my main aim is to get DM a room to herself rather than share a 1br with DH, me, DS16 and DS13.

Let me know if you think this could work.

I don't think it's crazy, actually it sounds like a good idea with a decent chance of working. Worst case relatives use the room or you lose some points and others may go into holding. That said, I'm not sure of your details such as use years or why you're losing some of the points anyways and how many points that is. How many points are at risk if you try this (miss banking windows). Is there availability to book a cash room at BWV and how much is it?
