Is there such a thing as a reasonably priced front/back LIGHTWEIGHT double stroller?

I know there are lots of "twin" side by side umbrella type lightweight double strollers out there, but are there any lightweight front/back style ones?! DH hates side by sides but I'm starting to think that might be our only option for a lightweight double. I thought one step ahead used to sell a lightweight front/back style, but they no longer have it on there web site-does anyone know about that one? FYI, we can't do two umbrella strollers, because we have 3 little ones (5, 3 and 8mo at time of travel)-so obviously, we'll be bringing a stroller for the baby and need the double for the older two. Not really interested in renting from the parks because we want the option of having the stroller for other times as well. We actually own a Graco duo glider, and we're driving, but it's so bulky and heavy, that I really don't want to have to use it-plus it will take up lots of precious room in our van and we need room for souveniers!! Any ideas?

A Peg Perego Pliko or P3 with foot boards for your 5 yr old to ride on (standing) when s/he is tired. I have one and when I dig it out, my 5 and 3 yr old both love to ride standing. It folds as small as a bigger umbrella stroller has a hood that goes all the way down to the handlebar and steers fairly well. You can pick up used ones on eBay all the time. The P3s steer considerable better than the plikos and have a snack tray if I recall right. Might be a good idea for you.

Otherwise the lightest most compace front to back I've seen is a Marco Sky something or other

I actually just bought a pliko for the baby! And I thought about the footboard option, but I know How my DS5 is and even though he normally doesn't use a stroller at WDW, he will whine and whine that his feet hurt and that he wants to sit down etc...I just don't think the footboard will be enough, but we're not going until Sept. so maybe I can try it out at one of the local parks by us and see if it works out. Plus I know you can't use the footboard if the stroller is reclined. So thanks for the idea but I doubt that'll work

Our family is traveling with three ages 7 3 and 1. We are taking our folding stroller for our one year old and renting a stroller for the other two. Even though our seven year old is tall it will be a place for him to rest when he gets tired.
The double strollers are big enough for smaller children but, they are side by side.

I love this one from Target the Evenflo (?) Take me Too Stroller- http://www.target.com/gp/detail.htm...4?_encoding=UTF8&frombrowse=1&asin=B0000UQQV2 (please keep in mind that I haven't purchased it, because I only have one child right now, but when we were trying for a second last year, I went around and tried them all out- I put my son in this one and steered it around and folded it up, the whole nine yards. It is very easy to steer, and fairly light for a double. It is also a very reasonable price, and I loved the non baby patterns. The ratings on the website aren't great, but I personally loved it and can't wait to buy it. The great thing is that you can just go to Target and try it out for yourself! You might also want to try the Sit n Stand stroller by Graco (?) HTH!!!

Why does he hate side by sides? I think they're much easier! I can't recommend a lightweight tandem, but I LOVE my Maclaren Rally Twin. I sold my Peg Perego Aria Twin (overpriced POS) and bought the Mac. It's lightweight, very maneuverable, and folds down pretty small. Worth every penny!

We bought a cheap side by side umbrella stroller from Babies R Us for the kids, (then 11mo and 3.5 years- this trip 18 mo and 4 years) and have used the heck outta that thing! The way I figure, at $80, when it gets worn out we're tossing it! It was cheaper for us to buy that stroller than rent a double from WDW for our last stay. I will say that it squeaks sometimes, drives me nuts- we've oiled that thing down from top to bottom and can't get it to stop! I just couldn't see spending the $$ on the more expensive strollers, but that's just me!

I saw a new one today; it is a stadium-seat tandem UMBRELLA-fold stroller; very interesting. Having remembered this thread, I tried the fold, and it does get nice and small, and is not heavy. I'd say it's about 16 lbs. It looks like a Pliko or a Chicco 2003, but it's from Safety First, called the Transit. Very generous canopy, double wheels on the back axles, quite a well-built model.
It does not actually have a basket in the traditional sense; it has what can only be described as a cubby for a diaper bag, which is a square space under the seat, accessible from the sides.

I've looked online to link a photo, but I can't find one anywhere. I saw this one at my local Once Upon a Child store, but it was new. (That store sells new strollers, too.) They had it priced at $169.

I have the Evenflo one that Ryan840 mentioned. I use it all the time. The front seat reclines somewhat and the rear (larger) seat reclines almost flat. I got it because my 3 y.o. can get in the back by himself. When my 16 mo old needs to nap they switch seats. It is a little heavy when loaded with the 65+ lb of kid, but when only one is in there, it is very easy to push. Maybe I just need to work out more but it does navigate fairly easily. I plan on bringing it on our WDW trip in July
