Is there such a thing a too much Disney

My DH is somewhat the same, then again we have gone every year since we've been together, except last year when we went on a cruise and to Vero, so we have done "Disney" every year.

Now we own DVC it is great value for us and as other posters have said there's so much more than the parks! I still have to play a round of golf, go on the Hayride, see the movie in China etc. etc. I find now we don't have to see everything & do everything it is the ideal holiday. Having said that I would now also like to go travelling again, new experiences and different places.

I'm sure there is a saturation point somewhere but I haven't got there yet! in fact I'm getting an AP when we go in May and am thinking of doing a solo trip later in the year....

OK, one for the gents here. Most of the previous posts seem to be along the lines of 'I'd go every year but DH says........'

Well not in my house ! I'd go every year but DW says no ! And there's the cost of 17 days to factor in (I think I could have paid my mortgage off by now if there was no WDW or US !).

I used to be a sand and sun in the Med man but no more. It's boring !

Problem is that DW is actually refusing to go back now - however, through our Virgin CCs I've cunningly acquired enough points for 2 free companion flights (in PE) so me, DW and 2xDDs can go back in 2008. Surely DW can't refuse ??

We are DVC members but would not want to go to just Disney Parks, there is so much more to Florida.
We have adopted a Manatee and like to visit her at Homosassa Springs.
The Atlantic coast, ST Augustine the oldest town in USA, Daytona, Kennedy Space centre.
The Gulf of Mexico, Tarpon Springs - the home of Greek immigrant sponge divers, Sarasota, Clearwater, the list goes on and on.
BUT we must have our fix of Mickey, we love WDW but we also love Florida.

Our first trip was supposed to be a 'once in a lifetime' We came back addicted and no matter how many brochures we pick up (and there have been dozens) have been unable to get enthusiastic about 'ordinary' holidays any more. I can't imagine ever getting tired of WDW it's just lovely to be in such a 'happy place' for a couple of weeks :Pinkbounc

we thought we would give florida a rest this year and do california which we are doing in may. Then the ichiy fealing set in and booked for florida in august, like outhers have said iam not a beer and beach person(thought i like a beer). We just love the quality a service you get in the states compared to europe.we Have even stayed in disney (we in dvc)and not visited a disney theame park

Like others say, for us, its not just about the theme parks - though we do like to be either at Disney or Universal at least every other day - mainly becuase in a few years the kids wont see it the same way as they do now. At 6 and 7, its just all so magical for them.

All our holidays with the kids have been to the States - either California or Florida and I can't imagine doing anything different. :teeth:

Is there such a thing as too much Disney? Yes. The same could be said for Universal or any other theme park. That's why our next trip to Orlando willl only include trips to MK and MGM using the two free days we didn't use last time. There is so much more to Orlando than just Disney.

Don't get me wrong, Disney is important and I wouldn't goto Orlando and not visit at least MK. However, it's not the be-all and end-all 24/7 experience I would want to have.

Variety, as they say, is the spice of life :)

I don't think you can ever get tired of Disney but after visiting twice in a year I was looking for something a little different so I booked a Disney Cruise. It was fantastic, obviously no rides etc but you still get the disney magic while visiting other places. My DD(10) loved it so much she has convinced me to book the Med cruise for next year. If you are interested you should check out the links here or visit DCL website for more information. :cheer2:

Of course - its a tiny tiny dot on the worlds map.

Very nice, but there are many equally/ better places to go.

Although I wouldn't go as far as to say there is such a thing as too much Disney, going too often does take the tingle factor off a bit! We normally try to go every 2 years but once went twice in 12 months & I do have to admit that it didn't "feel" as good on that second trip! We also on our last few trips have been going for 3 weeks so in most cases have managed to fit most things in twice so maybe that helps.
