Having been to the world 3 times since Sept 04 DH has told me he would like to give Disney a rest for a while in order to appreciate it more.

That means not going until 2008 at the earliest. OMG!!!

Now I really wanted to go in either May or Oct next year for 2 weeks. Our DD will either be approaching 7 or 7 and I think that because of her height she will be able to exerience bigger rides and also the Dolphin Swim at DC.

I have tried to use this as an excuse but its not working with DH at the moment.

Please help!!!!

Oh I feel you pain!!

After our first trip in March 02 we are just about to take our 8th!! :cheer2: it's kinda addictive. There should be a Disney anonymous :rotfl2:

We love the place so much were getting married there. My hubbie to be also says we are going to go into over kill if we keep going as much (we even bought DVC 2 years ago) So next year is a year off! and 08 we are planning on Australia so no Disney until at least the end of 08!!!! What's a girl to do? I think we at least need to have a week next year just to tide us over. LOL

There isn't such a thing as overdosing on Disney for me, but my DH isn't coming with us this year and i had an idea that i might get him there next year....but no! He has booked for us to go to Barbados Xmas 2007. He said that it is instead of going to Disney May 2007. Never mind, i suppose i should be grateful :confused3

I wonder that too, we are going for a third time in just over 12 months and although hubby said in whilst we were there in September that he probably wouldn't want to come back for a while we are now going in May. :teeth: I am not sure when we will want to go again after this holiday I suppose sooner or later it will be time for a change but hopefully it will be later.

Too much Disney!!!:faint:

We have been 4 times and each time we discover something new, whether a restaurant that we haven't been in, a corner of a park we haven't explored before, a new ride or show, a resort that we haven't been too before.....always something to discover :)
I don't think we would ever tire of being in WDW, whether in the parks, a waterpark or just relaxing in one of the resorts. It's more like a home from home than just a collection of theme parks :)

I can probably understand why your DH might fancy a change if you have been 3 times in the last 18 months (if I read that correctly).

I think it can be nice to have a break for a bit and then when you go back it all seems very new and fresh again :)

That said, I haven't reached that point myself, yet! But we will have been 4 times in a 4 year period when this summer comes about, so we have spaced our trips out a bit :)

We are now at the stage when we like to go because of the atmosphere and standards but don't feel the need to spend every waking moment in the parks.

Last year, we went into the parks about half the days we were there and even then only for an hour or so - sometimes just for a meal or a walk around World Showcase. It worked really well for us - but then we're on our own now as the "children" have grown up.

I agree with Gill - I always seem to do ;)

We go to Orlando every year, but not just because of Disney, there is a lot more to Florida than WDW.

For us the whole experience of being out in Florida is what it is all about, we like Universal just as much.
Whilst we have never got bored yet of visiting regularly we do try and vary our holidays as much as possible as I would say yes in some ways it would become a bit too familiar.

Have never really concentrated our whole holiday around Disney so far, although as we are staying on site for a part of our August holiday we are changing that to a degree.
I just think you need to have a slightly different approach, stay in different places (in our case a different villa) - so that the holiday is kept fresh and not too predictable.

Sitting watching Joshua playing in the pool/doing some shopping or a drive out to Clearwater for the day, we find just as enjoyable - to do the parks every day would be just far too much for us.

Overdose on Disney ???? No chance

We've got our 10th trip booked (since 1998) for the New Year, and like other posters say we haven't done everything

I hope that you manage to change his mind, but if not, come on here for your daily Disney dose :grouphug:

IMO no but DH would probably disagree. My friend and I have spent weeks persuading our DH's that they DO want to go this summer and yesterday after weeks of 'research' we booked. We just let our DH's grumble together (although I'm sure even they enjoy it really) while us girls (2 mums 5 teenagers) get on with having a brilliant time.

I do think there's a danger of getting blase about it all and not appreciating it in quite the same way when you're there 2 or 3 times a year, so I can see where your husband's coming from.

That's uncanny, Gill - I could have written that!

I would happily go every year and said as much after our first trip but DH although he loved it thought taking the girls to other parts of the 'real' world might be a good idea ;) so we agreed on a compromise, we would go back every other year. Works well for us and keeps the magic alive.

maybe you could suggest going on holiday to florida and just spending a a few days doing the theme parks and the rest of the holiday exploring the "real" florida?
This is why I planned a holiday to california..me and my daughter get a bit of disney while seeing another part of the "real world"...

Don't get me wrong I love Disney ..but I couldn't go every year and I certainly couldn't do the parks everyday......for us the rides / attractions do start losing their wow factor.

I have to agree with other posters though- there is more to Florida than WDW.

So far our three trips have all been entirely different holidays; as we have stayed different places, and tried types of accommodation and done different itineries/ attractions.

Hoping to return in Feb 2008 for a 7 night Disney cruise and more Orlando fun !

Hi

I would love to go every year if we possibly could. I have been to Europe and Carribean and hated them. I am not a beach and scenery lover. I hate waking in the morning and saying right what shall we do today pool, beach, shop or scenery. I love all the different things you can do in Florida. I love the parks, shops, beaches etc... it offers to much.

Personally if my dh said he wouldnt go anymore or not as often. I would find somebody to go with i.e family or friends. If need be on my own. I love it there and cant wait to book our March and Oct 2007 trips.

Overdose on Disney-No sorry, I see the words but I don't understand the meaning :rotfl2:

Seriously, I haven't yet been often enough to get bored or blase, but I'm willing to be a test subject....When you read some of the US boards and people are arranging their 4th or 5th visit of the year, I think could be considered overdosing. I can afford to go every other year which I will be quite happy with (Who am I kidding-I want to go NOW)

i go every other year -but only because of the cost.Given the chance i would be there every year :sunny:
Like an earlier poster said, there is more to florida than disney and that is why i love it.Although since mum has started coming with me i notice we spend far more time in the parks-us and sw as well.
I have always stayed in different accomodation every trip to keep it different.Next time i am hoping for a disney hotel-fingers crossed!

I am in a similar situation. We are going back in 15 days for our 3rd trip in 17 months. I wanted to go back in Sept/Oct too and with the free dining again it sure would have been a cheap trip. But there are circumstances stopping us from going then. The next time now won't be until May 2007 at least and it just seems so far away. I know that as the children get older they will want to do something different, and it will get much more expensive too. That's why we are fitting in as many trips as possible now.

I think if DH didn't want to go again
I would go on my own :cheer2: , this is from someone who dose not go any where on my own

We went 3 times within 12 months the time we had the AP's ( Had to get our moneys worth )

I will never tire of WDW :cheer2: :cheer2:

There is always something new going on
