Hi,

I remember hearing about a reserved/dessert seating for the Electrical Parade in DCA? I assume if there is you would book it through guest relations, but being from Australia i thought i would ask you good folk before i tried to make the phone call. ;)

Thanks!

We saw the signs for priority seating when we were there watching the parade on Friday.

Good luck, have fun!

Yes, there is. You get a dessert box, beverages, and get to sit near the Winery. (I am not 100% sure on the location... trying to remember what I was told when we looked into doing it a few weeks ago.)

Hope this helps,

The seating is right between Blue Sky Cellar and Wine Country Trattoria. We saw the tables set up in a roped-off area that is slightly elevated and overlooking the parade route.

I just signed up for this for our trip in August. It is $59, same as the seating for Fantasmic. Except they didn't say dessert box, I believe it is more like cheese, crackers, etc. A snack box.

How far in advance can you make reservations? 30 days like Fantasmic? ANd do you call the same number?

In addition...has anyone ever done this before and what was the seating and experience like? Was it worth it? :)

Would I want to sign up for this and Fantasmic (let's pretend money isn't an issue) or are the experiences (well, I guess the food) too similar?

I do not see info on the website. For either, who do I contact, and is it 30 days in advance? We are going in September and the entertainment schedule isn't posted.

I may be wrong, but I thought the Electrical Parade went on hiatus for the fall/winter months. :confused3

I know when we went last October it was not running.

Maybe someone could elaborate. :)

We signed up for both as we'd like to have good seats for both.

Because we're staying onsite at the GCH, I just called Vacaton planning.

I gave them my requested dates and they will book them for me.

If you are making a choice between Fantasmic and ELP seating, I would choose Fantasmic. Usually finding a good seat for ELP even 15 minutes before the parade isn't too difficult (as opposed to staking out a spot for hours for Fantasmic). The snack/dessert box is the same for both I believe--the only other diff is for Fantasmic you get non-alcoholic drinks and for ELP you get a choice of alcoholic or non-alcoholic.

I would choose Fantasmic for sure. We always get great spots to view ELP its never as crowded at DCA and IMO ELP is shorter?:confused3 Or just seems that way. Atleast with F! If you book an early show you get to stay and watch the fireworks. More time to enjoy the box of goodies. :cool1:

Thankyou so much for all that information!! :cool1:

I will have a think about it... although i'm sure i've left it too late already with only a couple of weeks until we leave. I also think my husband might want to strangle me for spending $120 on Dessert... :rolleyes1

We saw two empty tables in this area when we were there. We sat right under them on the ground.

There was NO room in this area, probably about 20 min before the parade. We got our seats about 45 min. before it started.

At 3 min. before the parade started, some guy came and stood RIGHT in front of me. I kid you not. Mind you, I was leaning up against the garbage can (yuck I know) and I was sitting RIGHT on the line. So, he was basically in the street with his kid trying to push me back. My husband politely told him that there was someone sitting there and he said "I KNOW".

To which I relplied he needed to move, that I had been there an hour. He didn't budge. AN HOUR I repeated. He stared at me like I was the one out of line and as a CM was walking over he walked away.

Anyways. I would have LOVED one of those seats at the table with food. The chair alone would have made it worth it to me! ;)

I have good freinds who did both F! and the ELP seating. They received the exact same box of goodies for both. Even after they were told a fruit and cheese4 snack box and a sandwhich box for their DD. No wine. Just be4verage service like the F! Package- cocoa, coffee, sodas and water

You would be surprised--I called three days before last week for a Friday night and it had availability for Fantasmic. I think because of the economy there are not so many people "splurging"

Hmmm... that's interesting. I could see that being the case though. A planned trip to DL may still be possible but not the "splurging" that families may have normally done. Selfishly, I"m hoping for lower crowd levels when we are there next month. I picked M thru Th nights for our 4 nights just to avoid weekend crowds but still feared the crowd levels of summer. We never go to WDW in summer, only in the off seasons (and Easter, when it can be a bit crazy there, too.)

Even if crowd levels are down, I'm still glad we booked the premium packages for both Fantasmic and the parade. I don't know when I'll get back to CA again so we're trying to do as much as we can on this trip. I know my feet are killing me by the end of the day at WDW so the seats for watching the show/parade are what I'm after.
