Is there some sort of map of the locations of many of the off-property accomodations?

We've stayed at Cypress Point and Vistana, but I'm looking for something closer to the Swan and Dolphin as dh will be attending Lotusphere there in January and I'll be driving him each morning.

Any suggestions?

Thanks for this! I hadn't thought about 'homes' per se, but maybe that might work.

Is there any other way to see actual resort communites?

for timeshares - Silver Lake is probably one of the closes.

It is right next to AKL and AK.

then holiday inn maingate west - have seem bad reviews about this hotel.

to get to WDW you are taking the short cut.

silver lake (back entrance) - turn LEFT - then at the traffic light - turn right.

you are now on WDW property - get in the middle lane - go pass the turn off for MK, Epcot, Studios - at the traffic light (says to turn left for Pop Century) near WWOS - turn left - when this road deadend - turn left - at the 2nd traffic light turn right - D/S are right there.

you can also rent points from a DVC member and stay in either BWV or BCV.

I think last year I spoke with you about renting from a DVC member....can you tell me how this works, and the average cost for a week? I have been perusing the DVC boards, and I'm not sure how to proceed.

I was looking into OKW as we'll have a car and it seemed the 'cheapest'. Do these rooms generally have a kitchenette and jacuzzi? Last year we got a 3 bedroom with kitchen and 2 jacuzzi's at Cypress Point for $90/nt! Don't think I'll touch that, but as it is, we are booked at the BC with the dh's company paying, so we have around $220/nt available to us. (I would like the kitchen and tub obviously and the regular rooms at BC don't have them.)

Thanks for any help. I will also look into Silver Lakes.

all have either a kitchenett (studios) or a full kitchen 1-bedroom and up

the 1-bedroom all have a whirlpool tub.

at all the DVC resorts in their quiet (and main pool area) is a spa (BIG whirlpool tub).

a studio only have a combination bath/shower.

In january sun-thurs night you can get OKW for $80 studio each night, $160 for a 1-bedroom. for fri/sat it will cost you $200 each night studio, 1-bedroom $400

BWV STANDARD VIEW sun-thur you can get for $90 studio each night, $160 for a one bedroom.
fri/sat $200 each night, 1-bedroom $410

BWV PREFERRED sun-thur $120 each night, $220 1-bedroom
fri/sat $220 each night, 1-bedroom $450.

so it depends if you want the whole week or just a few nights.

with DVC you can get just the nights you need.

OKW has 2 queen beds in their studio
BWV has one queen bed and a double sleeper sofa

the 1-bedroom has a king bed in the master, and a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom.

:Pinkbounc Wow! Thanks for all the info! Shall I just post on one of the DVC boards what I'm looking for and wait for someone to contact me? I assume I should post specifically which resort and bedrooms I'm needing for which days? OH! and which do you prefer?

Go to Floridakiss.com and you can get a magazine from them with all the hotels in it and a map. You might be able to find all the info you need on their site also.
