Is there really no August 2013 thread yet?

I had MV price out the Poly and the WL for the first week of August with their special deal. In case anyone is wondering, I calculated the cost of the Poly to be about 32% off and the cost of the WL to be about 35% off the regular room rates that I found on the WDW website. I took the package and dining portions out in order to figure out the room rates.

I haven't yet decided if this is a spectacular deal yet because I usually book room only with a discount code and I "think" we got 35% last year (can't remember).

The only PIN that is out for August (as far as I know) is "Save up to 35% at select WDW resort hotels, 8/11-9/28/13".

My friend priced out vacations through MV at the Poly for earlier in the month and wasn't as impressed by the discount, either.

So she booked the GF for the last week of August, like I did. When I checked the prices, it's $248.50 a night, compared to $540 a night, which is obviously a significant savings of over 50%.

we'd like to stay on property 7 night....is this Magical vacations promo only for packages? Sorry if this has been asked and answered.
If you can do room and dining I'd consider...we want to take advantage of Military ticket so I don't need that.

Yeah, we used to go Labor Day weekend and have the kids miss the first 2 days of school when they were little. It was a great time to go-never any crowds and cheap. Problem is that fall hs sports tryouts are in August, so we can't go at that time anymore.

We booked through MV for $285.75 a night CL Standard view. The rack rate for the same room is $493. The club level roo for this promo is cheaper than the rack rate for a standard room for the same dates. That rack rate was $350 a night on weeknights and $375 for weekends. The end of August promo is a great deal!

I've seen people get free dining pins. I was one of the lucky ones to get free dining on a bounce back for 2013

That always happens to me, too. Some have had luck calling and getting a CM to let them use it. I've never tried.

The Magical Vacations site (using the Agency Exclusive link at the top of the page) still says special package rate for 8/3-8/10 with tix and dining. I just requested a quote. I doubt it will beat rack rate for ASMu that we already have booked but I'll post the quote when I get it.

I've only ever received one PIN and one bounce back offer and couldn't use either, but a girl can still dream I'll see one or both of them again some day.

I booked for the first time ever with MV.

I had a reservation for mid August and saw the early August deal and changed my dates. I don't have my spread sheet in front of me but I can tell you I saved a good chunk of change. I just did room and tickets and we got a 1 day water park included in that so it worked for us.

I initially had dining but then we did some numbers and my dd that will be 12 when we are there would not take full benefit of her meal cost.

I did have a AAA rate on the other week I was going but the MV rate was a better deal.

Not if the rumors are true that FD won't apply to value resorts. Hope they don't change it!

Yep, both resorts are quoted for 6 nights and 5 day base tickets with disney dining. For Beach Club it was 4183.38 and for Wilderness Lodge it was 3758.16. I didn't compare the BC rate to rack rates but the WL price is about $700 less than rack rate. Unfortunately, it's still $650 more than what we already have booked at ASMu.
