I looked and looked for good photos of the slide before we stayed at AKL in July. I couldn't find any really good ones, so I took my own. The slide is not a BIG slide, but it's fun. It was exactly what I was looking for as a "beginner slide". The slider can easily see the bottom of the slide from the top, making it great for smaller children. My (then) 3 year old had a blast going down it with her swim vest. We're hoping there will be some good pool days in December.
Good pics, Robin! I'd agree...it's a good beginner slide. Very gentle. If only my kids had been there to see me go down it! I thought it was lots of fun.
I think several pool slides are nicer than the one at AKL. Certainly Stormalong Bay, but that's in a class by itself. I like CSR, the volcano pool at the Poly, and even POR a little more than the pool slide at AKL. (The animals are my #1 reason for staying at AKL--can't be beat).
Thanks for posting the pictures!! We have been considering AKL for our August trip and all the pool pictures we have seen were well, ---- yuck! Your pictures are a much better perspective of the pool area and I think the slide looks great! Our kids refuse to go down any enclosed slide and they hated the Poly pool slide. They will love this!
Susiesnowflake-did you really go down the slide? I wanted to but I didn't see any other adults use the slide so I didn't know if that was allowed but if it is then I will definetly try it out next time....
Gointodisneyagain,
Yes. I did go down it! And so did my husb. There was one other Dad going down it with his daughter, but my husb and I were kidless this trip. Definitely give it a try your next time there. It was lots of fun. Short but fun!
