Is there good steak at Disney?

I get steak pratcially everywhere I go in Disney and they are all good. Never had a problem.

There are so many conflicting views of the steaks around WDW, I'm beginning to think the quality from shipment to shipment varies tremendously. A year ago, we had the New York strip at Tony's, and it was nothing short of fabulous. Better, really, than the filet at Jiko. This year, the Tony's steak was pretty poor. I'd heard good things about the steak at Coral Reef. So, we were quite disappointed two weeks ago to find it as a middle of the road, on the tough side, not much flavor, steak. And the price, had we been paying OOP, was something like $35.99 -- the price you'd pay at a great steakhouse. Just goes to show that paying OOP really doesn't work anymore. It's like going to an emergency room without the negotiated rates of an insurer -- you're going to pay tons more for the same poor treatment.

Also, I think people's expectations of steak vary. If you're used to Outback, Coral Reef's probably fine. If you're used to Shula's, or the great steakhouses in NYC, most steak around WDW these days, even at the 2TS restaurants, is just okay.

Well, DBF and I ate at Le Cellier on sunday sept 14th, and im telling you, it was the BEST steak ive ever had in my life. The mushroom filet. You could have probably cut it with a plastic spoon it was so tender!!!! yum!!!! Try Le Cellier!!!!!!!

I just ate at Le Cellier for the first time to and I agree!! The filet was amazing!!! I'm not huge on mushrooms so i got the mashed potatoes with it...to die for!

Le Cellier Filet Mignon was the best steak I'd eaten in YEARS!!

Can't recommend it highly enough :goodvibes

Our favorite is Yachtsman Steakhouse for sure!

Although we have had great steaks at California Grill, Jiko, and LeCellier!!!

We LOVE the steaks at Yachtmen Steakhouse in the Yacht Club ... and they have awesome onion bread and sour dough bread ... YUMMY!

We love the Yaghtsman Steak House, and have eaten at Shula's also. I hear the steak at the Flying Fish is supposed to be great. I'm a fish person when I go there. Maybe I can convince my husband to order steak the next time we go so that I can say I tried it.

We ate at the Yachtsman last week and it was without a doubt the best steak I have ever had outside of here at home on the grill. It takes 2 TS credits but was delicious! Exactly as I ordered and i could have cut it with a fork! Allow yourself plenty of time to get there if you're going by bus - lots of stops between the Yacht Club and DTD.

Enjoy!! :thumbsup2

I am looking for a good place for steak I am on the dining plan. Is this the place to ask?

Hi,
On the dinning plan I would say go for Jiko and enjoy the filet over mac'n cheese. If you are looking for more of a steakhouse experiance then try the Yachtsman at the YC.

My DH is a steak SNOB and he LOVED Le Cellier!!!!:thumbsup2 He said that he wants to eat there EVERY day next year when we go. I said "Yeah, right!" :lmao:

Just came back 2 weeks ago. The NY strip at Coral Reef was very good. The best was LeCellier- the mushroom filet, changed theside from risoto to the cream cheese mashed potatoes-YUMMO! ;)

I largely agree with this quote. I would venture to guess that most people that rave about Le Cellier, Coral Reef, etc. had fine steaks, but have never been to Shula's, YSH, Jiko, etc. and, therefore, have no basis for comparison. I would also agree that the steaks at the signature restaurants are uniformly very, very good, but not quite up to the standards set by the classic famous steakhouses, such as Peter Luger, Smith & Wollensky, Bern's, Ruth's Chris, etc.

My favorite steaks at WDW are the filet at Jiko, almost anything at YSH, the buffalo steak at Artist Point and the strip at Flying Fish (haven't been to Shula's, but am going next month).

I'm wondering, too. Because the meal we had at Lecellier was mediocre at best. The steaks were very average.
We actually found them to be better at Coral Reef :confused3

We have yet to try Jiko, YSH, Shula's..

Do they charge extra to swap sides?

pirate: I am a steak man and I'm gonna let folks in on a well kept secret. One of the best steaks, especially for the price, is at the sit down restaurant at the Saratoga Springs resort - which I can't remember the name of. Maybe we just hit a good day but it was a great meal and a good atmosphere. May not hear this often, as it's a bit out of the way - but it's worth a try!
