Is there good steak at Disney?

We love the filet at the LeCellier--we've never had a bad one.
I know some of the "Signature" restaurants are supposed to have them, but DH and I don't do Signature dining at Disney.

Many of the restaurants have steak on the menu. You can find it almost anywhere, but some steaks are more equal than others.

The best are at signature restaraunts (and Shulas, but that's not on the dining plan). Yachtsman Steakhouse and Narcoosees are the best, in my opinion, but these are signature places. LeCellier is a one credit place and its good, not great, but good. If you go expecting an above average meal, you won't be disappointed. If you go expecting the best ever, you will be let down. Jiko has a great steak (with mac and cheese!). This is also a signature. My advice is to review the menus (you can find them here at the dis or at www.wdwig.com) and see which places appeal to you. Then come back here and see what people have to say about them, to get an idea. But if a place sounds good to you, don't be afraid to try it for yourself, regardless of what people say.

Enjoy and happy planning!:thumbsup2

If food quality is your number one priority, then I'd highly recommend Coral Reef at Epcot. The steak we had there was, hands down, the best entree we had all week. Even the sides were great.

The place loses points, however, for service and atmosphere. The deafening sound level in the restaurant is totally at odds with the quality of the food, and a meal there can take forever because the service is so slow.

Of the places I've been I'd recommend LeCellier over Coral Reef. Yachtsman gets excellent reviews, we're trying it on our next trip. The best steak I've ever had at WDW was at Flying Fish!:goodvibes

I've been to LC and YSH and if you are a serious steak person I think YSH is a must do at least once.

We had very good steaks, cooked the way we ordered and delicious traditional steakhouse sides. I can only remember the creamed spinach right now because it was the side I liked best. The portions of the sides are BIG. I think they are meant for at least two people. We could have shared with four.

I hope you have a great trip.

We just arrived home at 12:30am today so this is a recent review. I had the Rib Eye at the Grand Floridian Cafe last Tuesday and it was excellent. I had the New York Strip at the Brown Derby on Thursday and again excellent. I hope this helps. The funny thing is I was not going to have steak at the Brown Derby but the waiter made it sound so good I just had to have it!

we were at le cellier last year and the mushroom filet mignon was excellent, you should definitely go there if you can get an ADR.

The Wave has a good Filet. I had steak at Coral Reef and Kona also. The Wave was the best.

Le Cellier (mushroom filet, with or without mushrooms)
The Wave (tenderloin)
Kona Cafe (teriyaki sirloin strip...superb!)

California Grille has steak, but not worth 2 ts credits IMHO

Woohoo, I am glad to hear I can get the mushroom filet without mushrooms! :rotfl: Maybe I will sound stupid ordering it that way but I was just planning to push the shrooms to the side if that's the best steak there.:)

Is there Good Steaks at WDW???? YES SIRRR BUDDY AND YOU ARE AT THE Place that these folks can answer anything;) well here is my 2 cents and these are the 1 TS credits and I am sure you can get the great ones at the signatures like Narcooses,Shulas,Cali Grill and etc... but here goes

1. Lecelliar ( fillet,strip)

2. Coral Reef (strip)

3. Kona

Well, DBF and I ate at Le Cellier on sunday sept 14th, and im telling you, it was the BEST steak ive ever had in my life. The mushroom filet. You could have probably cut it with a plastic spoon it was so tender!!!! yum!!!! Try Le Cellier!!!!!!!

The Yachtsman Steakhouse - still hand cuts their steaks daily - our favorite signature restaurant.

Enjoy your trip!

I had one of the most delicious steaks I've ever eaten at the California Grill... takes two table service credits but it was so good!

Yacktsman Steakhouse at Yacht and Beach Club, Shula's at Dolphin, and La Cellier in Canada Pavillion at Epcot. All have excellent steaks! Shula's has a steak so large that anybody who can finish it gets their name engraved on a plaque hanging in the restaraunt.

Another vote for the Yachtsman...we just ate there on Aug. 6th. Loved it!! :thumbsup2

***Shula's is our absolute favorite...but they're not on the Dining Plan, as you mentioned that you are using the DP.

We just had steak at Coral Reef a couple of weeks ago. It was not very good at all.
