Is there anywhere I could find a Monte Cristo sandwich at disney world.

I was chatting with a friend about DL and one of the resturants, she said, has a yummy monte cristo.

since then, my dh and I have been wondering if there is anywhere in WDW that offers one?

they used to have one at CHH but it went long ago. I don't believe they do one anywhere on property now.

Coming from the west coast, a Monte Cristo at the Blue Bayou inside of PotC ride is one of if not the best dining experiences anywhere in Disney.

One of the single biggest dissapointments of the Magic Kingdom (and DW as a whole) for me is the lack of New Orleans square and the Blue Bayou.

I guess I am just going to have to figure out how to convince dh to go to DL, lol. I wanted to go next year, but want to wait until all the expansions are done with cars, etc.

I believe that a Croque Monsieur offered at Chefs de France in Epcot is the same sandwich by a different name.

No they are 2 different sandwiches. A Monte Cristo is deep fried, dusted with powder sugar and served with preserves.

Menus can be found on allears.net

Seconding...

The Les Chefs sandwich is really just a ham&cheese sandwich, and not that great of one either.

The Monte Cristo is much different (I can only eat a little of a MC).

Depends on which vesion of a Monte Cristo is being served. Some are sweet and deep fried with perserves or clotted cream. Some are serverd with Thousand Island dressing and grilled.

Close but not the same sandwich. The Croque Monsieur at Les Chefs is toasted and the Monte Cristo at Disneyland is deep fried.

thanks so much everyone.

the guilty pleasure i was refering to is the one that is deep fried, dusted in powered sugar, OH so yummy.

we used to have a bennigins resturant that served it.

That artery clogging sandwich is what I miss most about Bennigan's. In the midwest, a lot restaurants have Monte Cristo sandwiches, but they don't deep fry them - it's usually ham, turkey and swiss cheese, and grilled on bread that has been dipped in eggs like French Toast. Good, but not as decadent as the one that Bennigan's served.
