Is there anyway to avoid the MK resort surcharge when using town car service?

Hi All,

As I am exploring my options for town car rentals, I am discouraged that if I stay at a Magic Kingdom resort there is a $9 gate charge assessed. Is this something that the driver pays while you are in the vehicle?

If they make multiple stops to the MK within one day do they pay each time?

I am an annual pass holder so that would entitile me to no parking fees if I were driving my own vehicle, so I guess I just find it irritating that I would have to pay for this if someone else is doing the driving.

Can someone explain this to me?

Thanks,
Brenda

You shouldn't be paying the charge for the drop off. It's the pick up when you're not in the vehicle that the driver gets charged.

The driver can always avoid the fee by going in the back way by Fort Wilderness. The security booth there was closed awhile back, so there is no reason they can't use that way to avoid the fee.
