Is there anyone not doing a TS everyday?

Or is it just us? Kind of as a spin off of the dining plan thread. But our last couple of trip I made sure we had a TS reservation/ADR for every single day but I found it so limiting. My DS even complained about having to make it to so many reservations. Plus with a TS everyday we were always so full that we didn't get to try the various Disney treats like ice cream, dole whips or pastries from the bakeries in Epcot. This is just we entrees, we never made to appetizers or desserts. I know those shouldn't take the place of a good meal but we would rather have a sandwich or nice salad then save room for snacking and desserts. I guess that means were more snackers than anything. I think next time I would schedule a TS every other day instead. Anyone else experience this?

This is the first time we're doing a TS every day. However, we're not big snackers....we get maybe one snack a day (so the limit of one per person on the DP is fine for us). If you are a big snacker, a TS every day probably would be too much for me too because that can be a lot of food.

There are days that we are doing CS lunch and dinner and then doing TS breakfast and dinner to balance out the credits. I figured on the days we have a TS breakfast, they are earl enough so that we probably won't have lunch and by the time we have dinner we'll be hungry again.

Texa, we eat like that too - small meals (no appetizers or desserts with the meal), just a few TS each trip, mostly counter service, lots of favorite snacks. Our TS meals are usually character meals and other restaurants that we choose for their fun theming. Because of the way we eat (plus the fact that we have APs and usually get a discounted room) we've decided that the dining plan isn't for us.

On our first day in Disney we are only going to use our counter service credits- saving the TS for the next day for the Luau Show- takes 2 TS per person. We are not getting to our resort until about 6:30pm anyways- too late for dinner.

Us! I actually count myself as a lover of counter food. I'd be sad if I missed out on it. :)

For our upcoming 6 night trip we have ADR's for 3 TS dinners and one TS breakfast, and I'm worried it's too many and will limit us too much. Like Kaycee, we also have decided the dining plan is not for us since we'd rather have our favorite snacks and have the flexibility of eating when we want at a CS.

I'll know better after our trip in September. We usually do only a few TS's a trip- like last trip we went to CRT and Rainforest cafe for dinner on a trip of about 6 days.

This trip we're going 8 days, 8 nights and eating 7 TS's (HBD is taking up 2 TS's). We're going to one lunch, the rest dinners. We'll see how limiting it is for us, I'm just excited to try all the different restaurants!!

isn't this right if you do not use up all of your TS credits then you loose them so why would you not plan accordinling and use them all?????

Not only do we have TS every day, we have TWO TS on 5 days. We'll eat a big breakfast around 8 AM and then go to dinner around 7 PM. Food is one of my favorite parts of Disney!

2 of our breakfast ADRs are Crystal Palace and Donald's before the parks open. That's my way to make sure everybody is in place at park opening! ;)

We have never done or never thought about doing a TS everyday. That would be to much food and to much money for us (we dont do the dinning plan).

We never do TS every day...that's just too much food for our family. I usually plan on a TS every second or third night of our stay. (and even then I end up cancelling ADR's) In fact, Christmas Eve this year we have an ADR at Prime Time 50's, breakfast at Crystal Palace on Christmas Day and then dinner at 1900 Park Fare for Christmas dinner! I'm already thinking that's way too much food for us in 2 days and we'll be stuffed...but it is Christmas isn't it? We do CS a lot but try to avoid the typical burgers/hot dogs/fries etc. I am going to return to a couple of off-site locations for dinner this Dec/Jan (oh the shame! :rotfl: just because we found some restaurants we really enjoy and a little more reasonably priced. We don't do the DDP and have AP's.

We do a table service every evening, but schedule it for around 9pm. The restaurants are less crowded, buffet food has been restocked and is fresh looking, servers are usually less frazzled. Plus, by eating that late it doesn't seem to cut into the middle of the day plans.

When on the DDP, we eat cereal in our room (use 1 snack credit for milk from gift shop each morning). Go to park at opening, stay until 1-2pm (when it starts getting hot & crowded), eat lunch at park or hotel, swim & rest at hotel. Then we shower & freshen up around 7pm, leave for park again around 8pm, in time for our TS reservations at 9pm. Dinner is usually served quick this time of night, then we watch fireworks and ride more rides as the crowds thin out.

I hate having TS reservations in the early evening, just makes us feel to rushed. But 9pm works great for us.

A few years ago, I went with my DS (sister) and my DF (friend). This was when the had the Bronze, Silver, and Gold packages. Well, we decided to go all out and stay at the BC (my fave resort) and do the gold package :cool1: (you got 3 full meals per day, plus unlimited recreation...it was similar to the premium package offered now). We WAY overbooked...we actually did 2 TS meals per day, it was insanity  !!! We were SO stuffed but we didn't cancel anything cause it was a great opportunity to try new things. As you are not on a dining plan, and TS can get expensive, maybe do a TS ALMOST every day, but leave a couple of days for spontenaity (yes that is a word!) When i go now I book one TS per day bz I usually go when it isn't too warm (no swimming at the resort), do not have kids (no nap needed), and generally use a nice TS to relax and take a break from the parks. It is truly a personal choice, but seeing that your DS is already worried about your overplanning, I might suggest cutting out at least a couple of your TS'. Happy dining!!

I just showed my family our ADRs for our August trip (I'm starting to get excited about it!) and they all hemmed and hawed about all the TS's. So we went through them and I found out that they couldn't care less about three of them ('Ohana, Cape May, and Tony's). The ADRs are my favorite part of our WDW trips, but I never thought that the rest of the family found them boring at times (Imagine? What happened to these people? Some kind of pod must have been involved . . .).

So I cancelled those three, and added the Plaza Restaurant for my birthday on August 29. That will save us a ton of time and money now that my kids are counted as adults on the buffets.

Our next trip is only 4 nights and I'm only going to make 2 TS reservations.
We really want to try LTT plus are thinking of doing the Fantasmic package. That will give us room to try casey's, tusker house, MK Bakery, etc etc. All those places we wanted to try but never had room!

We are going Thanksgiving week, so I felt it was important to have an ADR at ALL the TS restaurants I want to eat at. So I wound up with a TS for just about everynight.

I'm in agreement with the OP on this. I've learned that our plans will change while we are visiting WDW. ADR's were hard to come by during our last visit except for the one's I had booked several months in advance. TS meals take up too much time and it can be a pain to try to make it to our ADR's.
