Ok, how many of you are driven completely NUTS when a reply to a thread starts with this phrase:

"I didn't read the other replies but I thought I'd" blah blah blah :furious:

And the post ALWAYS duplicates something that's been already said!!!

Am I the only one who finds this utterly and completely annoying? I mean, if you can't be bothered to slog through all the pages, because you're SO sure what you have to say is unique, then just don't even post. Keep it to yourself! Really, don't share, because there's a 99% chance that somebody before you who DID bother to read through the whole thing has already said it!

So I humbly implore the tag fairy to gift me with a tag that says "Don't Post Until You've Read Every Dang Page!" :worship:

Anybody with me?

I didn't read the other replies but I thought I'd share how much it infuriates me when people just repeat the same thing over and over!

Well, I'm not sure if anyone has replied to this or not ;), but I tend to agree with you. In fact, If I see a thread with 5+ pages of responses, and I don't feel like reading them all (usually the case), I just automatically assume someone has said what I'm thinking and I move on. If I'm not following it from the beginning, I never have the patience to read the whole thing and I just figure I couldn't possibly have anything more to contribute.

I'm with you! It seems like a lot of posters don't read and just reply. Sometimes the same thing is repeated over and over like its an original thought.:rotfl: Whats up with that? :confused3

GUILTY!!

I have done that; not very often because I'm concerned about making a hiney of myself, but I have done it when there's something like 17 pages before me, and the original poster asks for opinions and I happen to have one just waiting to pop out. :)

Sorry if it bothers you :flower3: I'll try to think of something annoying to post about so that you can do that and annoy me in return! :thumbsup2

;)

ETA: I thought of something already! :D

When someone decides they have something to post about and they do going on and on and on about the subject and how bothersome it is or how upset they are or something like that and they dont use any kind of punctuation and expect people to read these gigantic blocks of text and insert their own punctuation and assume theyll get it in the right context and answer it correctly really kind of just grates on my nerves and I tend to not read posts like that because it just ends up giving me a really big headache and feeling resentful because i have to work so hard to read a post and considering i am a spelling and grammar fanatic reading it is really beyond my patience level you know what i mean

Wow. That was HARD! lol

That bugs me as well.

You might as well just say "I didn't think anything the rest of you had to say was worth reading, but you should all totally know my thoughts on the matter."

Why post it if you aren't going to be part of the dicussion? Just so we all can benefit from your "wisdom"??? I don't even really care if it's a duplicate or not, I just can't get over the sheer arrogance of it.

I skip right over right posts that start with that disclaimer.

:lmao: Oh honey, just read some of my posts, I'm on a tear today-I know I've annoyed at least 20 people, just today!

I didn't read all the replies but I actually like it when people respond without being persuaded by responses. It makes me think that people are actually answering the question/dilemma, instead of just jumping on "whatever" bandwagon.

And btw, the first 6 words of this response are just to annoy you. :lmao:

I HAVE read all these responses but I have to disagree. It is more annoying when those responding don't read the OP! I can't tell you how many times I read an OP where they have specified certain things, like I already tried this, or I don't have access to this, or I am looking for suggestions on X. And the responses invariably suggest the exact same things already mentioned by the OP, or the advice/suggestions given have absolutely nothing to do with what was actually asked!

For instance OP may say I need to find an X. I have looked at these 3 places and don't have an Walmart anywhere that I can get to. And 2 pages of answers are either check Walmart or the other 3 places the OP already said she looked.

I would rather read responses that repeat if they have to do with what the OP said!

Oh my goodness, I was just thinking that EXACT thing--"My, she's really on a tear today, isn't she?"

Too funny! :lmao:

:rotfl2:

I just started drinking Vitamin Water and today (at work) I tried the yellow Energy Vitamin Water.

It has a LOT of caffeine and guarana in it.

Wheeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

I finished everything I've got scheduled today in like, an hour! :dance3:

I didn't read the other replies but I thought I'd; if the thread is only a few pages I will read them all. (But not in this thread). If the thread it 100 pages I will read the first two or three then the last two or three to see where the conversation started and were it is now. Then if I have anything to add I will.

Guilty as charged. I don't think my POV or opinion is super unique or special, it's just that I honestly don't care what anyone else's opinion is!

Guilty.
If I repeat what someone else has already said, oh well. If you see it starts off as repetition, don't read the post. :confused3

Maybe they are reponding to the OP's post. You don't need to always read everybody else's (and possibly be persuaded, as another PP pointed out) to give your direct answer or opinion to the OP. Has nothing to do with arrogence, or any other negative discription you want to cough up. Maybe there are 100 pages of answers and you don't have time to read them all, who are you to decided who has a 'right' to answer a post and who doesn't. If it bothers you, you just have to get over it. Also, some people do have the exact same opinion, and the OP appreciates seeing how many people feel the same way about something---or not. If someone asks a question that has a "yes" or "no" answer, does that mean only two people can answer so there are no repeats? Obviously, this bothers you, but that doesn't mean it's "wrong"l it's just your opinion. And for the record, I do read 99% of posts I post on. Sometimes I don't read every single page if it would take me an hour or more.

I've read every post here. But that doesn't mean I always read every post! Good grief, nothing else would get down.

I do want what the OP is drinking please. :rotfl2:

:thumbsup2

Kickapoo Joie Juice--you already know where I stand on this one! ;)

Darsa--Please don't hurt yourself anymore! That had to have been very painful post and I can guarantee it was very painful to read even though I am not the best speller in the world. After all, I was afraid my children might go "hungary". Of course I noticed the person who pointed out my error had her own grammer errors in a lot of posts. "it were useful...." for example. Because I may make mistakes I try not to make fun of others who do, but rather just suffer through it. I agree punctuation is a definate must whether it is correct or not.
