Is there any way to send a letter to a CM directly?

DD16 was hoping to leave a hand-written note for one of the Peter Pans saying how great she thought he was. There were 2 different PPs while we were there and one was just hands-down more friendly and interactive. We went to Guest Services but were told it would have to go on a compliment form and it would be rewritten. Does anyone know if the CM would get the original letter if we mailed it in? Or is there any other way to do it?

I'm guessing they don't allow this for safety reasons -- probably helps prevent guests stalking CMs and I'd guess it also eliminates any concerns about a CM contacting a young guest who might try to leave a phone number or something. But I know DD is on the up and up here so just wondering ... she was really disappointed that she couldn't do something besides filling out a form.

Have your DD contact Guest Service (she can use the link on the website). Give as much specific detail as possible, e.g. date, time, location, CM description, etc. She can write her full letter, which will get sent to the CM's supervisor. A copy will go into the CM's file. These CM compliments really do matter and do get read by management. I've had CMs tear up when I told them that I put in a compliment for them. Good for your DD for wanting to thank a CM for making the magic for her!

Possibly two copies. One to Disney so the CM gets the recognition she deserves, and a second to the same address but with her name on the envelope and c/o Disney. If you don't know her name that may be a problem.

Write to Disney. Write two letters, one explaining how happy you were with the interaction. Give as much detail as you can. Date, time, place. You can include a letter for Peter Pans friend and they should receive it.

We don't know the name of the Peter Pan who was working that day so there's no way to address a letter. Should I just put the second letter inside the first letter? I do have an exact time/day/place because we took pictures.

We did leave a compliment at City Hall as well.

Glad you did this. If you do this right away, it helps management figure out which CM you are talking about, if you can't remember or don't know names.

As much as we want to compliment CMs directly, the best thing anyone can do for them is file a compliment form at Guest Relations. It will be read publicly at their shift meeting; it goes in their file, and is taken into consideration when it comes to promotion and assignments.

I thinking it as paying back some of the magic, and I think that if we are looking for the good, our overall experience will be better.

I agree with many of the previous posters: leave it with Guest Services. If nothing else, it'll go into his file and it'll be good for whenever they do his performance review (I presume they do them there).

Last weekend I stopped in at City Hall to leave a commendation for a specific CM who went beyond the call. Yes, sometimes things go wrong at DL and we feel compelled to complain. But when things go right, those things also need to be highlighted :-).

Happy Friday!
