Is There Any Insect/Bug You Will Not Kill?

We live in a century old farmhouse in the country, so we do have an occasional spider enter the house. Most of the time they are the little black fuzzy ones that seem to jump and I have no problem killing them, or flies, mosquitoes, etc.

But. I just now had a granddaddy longlegs spider in the kitchen sink and I do not have the heart to kill them, so I took it outside and let it go. :) I don't know why I don't dislike them like I do other spiders. Now if I see a spider (any kind) outside I don't kill it, but in the house is generally different.

What about you? If a bug/insect is in your house do you automatically kill it, or is there one (or more) that you will take outside and let go?

Ladybugs
Butterflies
Non poisonous spiders (I think of Charlotte's Web)

That's about it. All other insects and small mammals are fair game.

I don't like squishing any bugs really, because it's gross. I try to catch and release as much as possible. I will use spray for ants or roaches though (but I still don't like stomping them - especially anything big). Some bugs I prefer not to harm at all are ladybugs, moths, and spiders if I am sure they aren't dangerous ones. Most others don't ever come in the house anyway, and if they are outside I leave them alone.

I catch and release moths, lady bugs, stink bugs. Any other bug in the house gets killed.
Outside, I will kill any biting insect that comes near me.

Arizona wolf spiders. I always try to catch them if they're in the house and I release them outside. They are hard little buggers to capture because they move super fast!

I grew up believing it was against the law to kill a preying mantis. (Intentional misspelling).

Any insect inside my house is subject to being killed or caught and released outside depending on the situation and my mood.

Insects outside I generally let be.

I don’t go out of my way to kill spiders unless they’re Brown Recluse AND inside the house. Ladybugs, butterflies, and a few others as well.

We are "supposed" to kill those if we see them here. I had never heard of them until something about them came up on FB.
Yep. I've heard about them for a few years. If you camp in Pennsylvania you weren't supposed to bring firewood from out of state. It was an attempt to prevent spotted lanternflies from invading.

Apparently it didn't work.

If I saw one of those inside I'd fumigate the house!
LOL! They're really great at catching bugs, though, which helps out here in the Arizona desert! But you should hear my kids scream whenever they see one. I have yet to see a tarantula, but my friends have. I would definitely scream like a little girl if I ran across one of those! Haha!

If it's a mosquito, they're dead. if it's anything else, I let be as long as it stays away from me. There are a few bugs like moths or daddy longlegs that I don't even bother removing from my house. My two cats love bugs are usually take care of them for me

I have a basement apartment & get a lot of crickets & those little things that roll up into a ball. I don't kill them, just sweep them up in a dust pan and toss outside. Any other insect inside gets sprayed or squashed.

Outside I usually let them be unless they are invading my personal space.
