is there any better feeling than.....

This is a good thread...I really enjoyed reading everyone's responses. I agree, checking in to your Disney resort gives you a really good feeling, but man, once you walk under the railroad station and get that first glimpse of Main Street, USA and then, (gasp) the castle...I just stand there in awe. I make sure to stop wherever I am when I first see the castle. It's as if everything else around me freezes and it's just me...standing there taking hold of one of the most beautiful sights...the castle. That lasts for a few seconds...then of course, I happily stroll down on my way to ride the Pirates. I also get a kick when I get in the boat at Pirates and hear "Dead Men Tell No Tales..."

Sorry, I know I kinda went off in a flight of fancy...but reading this thread kinda did it to me....

You are SO right about these aspects of Disney as well! I am constantly saying "Dead Men Tell No Tales"....no matter where I'm at either inside WDW or not! lol :goodvibes

Whenever we go I just don't feel that it's quite real until I plop the suitcase down in the room and sit on the bed - Whoosh! - What a relief.........

Flying down just makes it more unreal that we are truly in Florida even with all the heat and sunshine. It takes my mind a few hours to adjust mentally to actually being there!

And even though the parks and restaurants will be packed when we are there next week there's something about being away as others have said, truly being in another world!

Definitely one of the best feelings!!! :cloud9: :cloud9: I get a lump in my throat just thinking about it!!! (That's a GOOD kind of cry!)

There is nothing like it, you're absolutely right. We really "ham it up" at check-in. We're like little kids, and we don't have any kids. Once when we walked up to the CM to check-in, my husband flashed the confirmation letter and said "read 'em and weep baby." The CM cracked up. This may sound nutty, but we really revel in the check-in period...sort of drag it out. There is nothing like that moment.

But then, there is nothing worse than checking out. YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our excitement builds as we get closer to WDW in our rental car. When we see the entrance we always cheer and sing Zippity-doo-dah. We swear the air smells and feels different once we "cross over".

The check-in is always exciting and nerve-wracking as we are always hoping to get that "special" room location with no smokey smells.

The first walk is always up Main Street and we are always reduced to about five years of age. It is as if we are seeing the castle for the first time ever--every single trip.

It is always the best until the dirty clothes pile starts to get bigger than the clean clothes pile. And so the countdown begins to the saddest part of the trip. Yet, how wonderful to feel so in love with a place time after time. I feel sorry for people who don't quite get the enchantment of it all.

That is indeed a great feeling. Can you remember what it felt like the first time you stayed on-site and walked into your resort. For us it was at the All Star Sports. Even though we have since stayed at mods, nothing has quite matched that first few moments in the lobby of AS Sports. Good thing for me and DW I don't think the same way about girl friends :rotfl2:

I've been getting that same feeling for the past year and a half every time I drive past the airport... especially know that exactly 3 WEEKS from this very exact moment in time, 1:45 AM, I'll be waking up(or already be awake), preparing to leave the house by 2:30am to get to my school, then go to the airport... squee!! :jumping1:

arriving at your resort, walking into the lobby and knowing that your trip is just beginning!!! it's a high that nothing else could possibly give you!!! only 32 more days for us!!!

Couldn't agree more.

As I always say to my wife. A bad day at Disney is better then a good day at work.

OMG that's exactly how I feel. Getting off the plane walking down to baggage, pulling up to the resort and inhale through nose blow out through mouth, deeeeeeeeeeeeep breaths. Heaven on earth.

And don't you just love taking that tram (in the airport) over to the main terminal and seeing the Palm Trees swaying in the breeze.

Only 34 more days.

I also love the feeling of arriving at the resort for the first time. The smell, the music, the CM's..... I can't wait!!!! ::MinnieMo

I get it when we first see the purple Walt Disney World Resort sign when you first get on property!! Glad to be single digit dancing too!! :cool1:  :cool1: :bounce: :cool1:

It is the best feeling in the world. :Pinkbounc I always tell my husband when we're checking into the resort "This is my favorite part of the whole trip".

To best honest, I have that feeling when I'm checking into any nice hotel at the beginning of a trip - it's a fantastic feeling!

I could not agree more. It is strange, at least for me as I live in South Florida, once the car is packed and we hit the Turnpike the slowly begins to grow that feeling that only those who have stayed in the park know about as you head out on your trip. Then the heart starts to race as we get off Osacola Parkway Exit, which is really nice as it takes you straight to the Walt Disney World Property. Then you see the signs welcoming you to the world that Walt Built. For my family we tend to stay at the Wilderness Lodge, so we enter at the main gate as if heading to the Magic Kingdom, then we make a right onto Wilderness Drive and we can see the Wilderness Lodge you pull the car up and Valet comes and helps with the bags, and you then enter the grand doors and for those who have not stayed at the Wilderness Lodge the Loby is GRAND and that is saying it Mildly. Each time we stay there a WOW comes over me and and I am still amazed, then again that is the magic of Disney World, to amaze you everytime.

I know everyone has their favorite hotel, their home away from home when going to Disney, for me its the Wilderness Lodge. Don't get me wrong I have stayed at other hotels, Animal Kingdom Lodge - loved it. the Poly-loved it. Port Orleans Riverside-loved it. Even the Cabins at Fort Wilderness-loved them. The main thing is you are at Disney World Right.

I cannot wait I have 50 days to my Grand Gathering.
