Is there any benefit at all to going mid/end of June?

Hmm. We were thinking of mid june (price is much better over here as our school holidays dont kick in till July.)

I've been early July (inc. the 4th!), late July-Early August, and Late August to Early Sep. Figured if I can survive those months I'll survive June.

Can't say I noticed much of a difference in crowds in either of those times. Weather was brutal in July in 2009, but I was very overweight... Just prepare for humidity if you do go in July and August. Feels like you never stepped out of the shower some days. I like the heat though. I come from a land of rain and drizzle...

We're going the last 2 weeks of June, too. It's the only time to fit everyone's schedules. One in school. One just graduated college. One currently unemployed. Me? Get there and back before my 4H kids go to judging. Last time I took my niece in late July/early August. HOT! CROWDED! Half of Brazil there (don't get me started). Will never do that again!
