Is there aneasy way to lighten background color using photoshop elements 7

Was searching for other images to use for our upcoming june 2012 trip and came upon this. It is the image from the 2011-2012 wdw calendar.
When printing it is way to dark.
I did locate another image but the resolution is to low to be able to enlarge it.

Is there an easy way in photoshop elements to lighten the background?

Is the overall image dark when printing or just the background? If it's the overall image go to Enhance> Adjust Lighting> Levels. Move the middle slider, the gray arrow just above the box with 100 in it, to the left. You can also move the white slider to the left but that can make an image funky looking.

If it's just the background you'll need to select it first. Try the first method above and if that does not work let me know and I'll give you further instructions.

All of it looks dark.
I will give this a try and see what happens.
