Is there an opportunity to extend during your CP stint?

I am wondering if there is the possibility to extend your time and not depart in May or June??

Yes. As far as I know, you can apply to extend your program. However, it can not be longer than a full year. You have to take a semester break before you do another one.

I wonder if you can extend by like 2 months?? I wonder if they let you extend like that.

I know there are summer opportunities for alumni. You'd have to call and ask.

I was originally Spring 2011 and was supposed to depart May 13th. I extended until August 5th. That was the only date that we as spring participants could extend to. You have to apply and be excepted for an extension. We had the opportunity to apply for an extension again until January 2nd (I think), but I didn't apply.

And, just like the CP, not everybody who applies for an extension will get one. I did but had to turn it down. But some of my friends who I worked with didn't get it, and they were excellent workers. Some so-so people that I worked with did. I really don't know how they decide

CP participants who wish to extend must meet transfer guidelines in order to extend. Several of my DDs good friends who were excellent workers did not recieve an offer to extend due to too many points or reprimands. Keep in mind that even clock in violations do add up including failing to clock in or out or clocking in late. I think a lot of CPs make the mistake of not paying too much attention to their record card and then are shocked when they can't extend.
