Can anyone tell me which DP is usually offered free? Or how it works if offered? When I spoke with the lady at Disney she told me if I get a Pin I can apply it? I guess she was not looking at my reservation showing the 40% off room. Which i do think will still turn out to be the better deal on the Deluxe resort.

If you're staying at a deluxe resort, free dining (if offered) is the regular DDP...1 TS, 1 CS, 1 snack.

Yes, if you receive a PIN you can call to have it applied to your reservation.

Usually, a room discount is a better deal than FD when staying deluxe.

The most recent public offerings of free dining offered free quick service for values, and regular dining plan for the mods and deluxes.

Because the most recent PIN codes to come out for this time have switched to free quick service for values and mods, and regular dining for only deluxe, I'd bet that the next public offering will have the same deal.

At this point the lack of a room discount is not hurting me as much as the prices of airfare I'm seeing. OUCH all around! Not sure how this trip is going to come together without breaking the bank.

I am with you! I have been pricing air fare for the last month and Air Tran came down for a few days last week, but we are not able to book until we see what promotions come out for the end of October, if any. Air Tran has a fairly large change fee, which I don't want to have to pay. I looked again at prices yesterday and !!! We will probably end up driving if we don't catch some sort of special.

I've been watching airfares on Tues/Wed go down...I bought on SW on Wed last week and got 89 and 99 fares for BUF-MCO - they've gone back up to 139...give it a try and see as my friend tells me JetBlue and AirTran are similar with timing!

joining on the wait, just changed dec trip to oct 1st thru 7th, going to do MNSSHP & HHN-@ least 2 days onsite @ Universal

too bad nothing left for all of my dates DVC at this late date except SSR & i cannot bring myself to use so many points there, would rather save them for another trip & book CRO.

im waiting with y'all, going to book a room for the dates I need AAA? then hope i get a pin, or public offer.

1 Q for the expertsthose who did get FDP offer @ the values & mods this year, were they able to upgrade to DDP? If so, what was the upcharge per adult/per day?

Still upset there was no bounceback last year for '11 since we visited (July & October)

Great tip!! You are right....it was midweek that I saw $99 flights out of Milwaukee to MCO. I will have to keep an eye on the fares this Tuesday and Wednesday. Come on Free Dining!!!

They just released the Aug and Sept discount. Free Dining! Here's to hoping they will offer it in October as well. Now we just keep waiting, and waiting.

I'm with ya. If they do release something, I hope it is a discount room code as well. I mean, I would take free dining if that is what comes out since I am already booked rack rate and going no matter what. So it would be nice to get SOMETHING.

Nah........ they'll offer it, but only for the weeks with the lowest bookings already.

The fact that they re-offered for September tells me bookings are down. And it's their "go-to" option for filling rooms.

Still hoping for a room-only discount. We don't like the DP, and I've got my room with the AAA discount, so FD is of no use. Just need a few more bucks off!

I think they will extend the FD offer but with very limited availabity more than likely the lower priced room catagories will be in short supply or non-existant so copled with having to pay a higher rack rate on a more expensive room and having to buy the photobook, it is going to cut into the savings big time.

I think that's a good point. We have no way of knowing on a given promotion if they will offer the same number of say.... value rooms....... as they have in the past, or if they offer half or even fewer.

Thankfully we're in the right place to know when it happens first and snap up those deals..........

I'm sort of relieved they didn't announce for fall yet. I'm not settled on preferred month yet, and once it's out there, the availability could be gone to change it if I change my mind.

As long as it hasn't been announced yet, I can change my mind a hundred time still!

I'm hopeful as well! My daughters will be 12 and 11 so are "Disney adults". The free dining would save much more than a room discount for us. Fingers crossed!
