DH and I have been to Ca twice and have never made it to an In N Out Burger but we are dying to try it. We arrive in LA on Friday afternoon at 12:30pm and thought maybe we could hit one before we get to DL. Maybe something just off the freeway?

They are both actually easy to find. From the parking structure you have the two choices...

For Brookhurst:
Turn Left on Ball Road.
Go to Brookhurst and turn right. (I believe it's 4-5 lights)
On the right hand side in the Alberton's Parking Lot

For Harbor:
Turn Right on Ball Road
Turn Left on Harbor
Just past the 91 fwy on the right hand side just past Orangethorpe.

I think the Brookhurst one is less crowded of the two, but it can be busy at lunch time!

That's great! I'm asking as well because we may not rent a car just take the shuttle. Would it be in walking distance? Or could you take a cab for a few bucks?

I'd cab it...grab one from DTD.

you might want to check the bus schedule down Harbor. getting a cab to IN-n-out will be easy, you might not have as easy of a time getting one back to DLR.

You could always have him go through the drive thru and take it back to DTD also...

Are you coming into LAX? There's one only a couple of blocks from the airport. Its always our first stop! Don't forget to try a milkshake - they're the best!! :hyper:

We'll be there Friday morning can't wait!

Have a Double-Double for me, please. Mustard, ketchup, and grilled onions only. Thanks!!

For your first time, just get the regular menu items. But, if you want to be like a local, next time around(or this time) ask for it Animal Style! What is animal style? Here's a list of their "secret menu":

"Animal Style" - bun is grilled with mustard, sauteed onions instead of raw, pickles, extra "special sauce" - [this can also be applied to fries]

"Wish Burger" - no meat, i.e. veggie burger

"Protein Style" - lettuce wrapped around the burger instead of a bun for all of you who are in "The Zone"

"Old Fashioned Style" - originally I had this listed as "ketchup and mustard instead of the weird special sauce" but that is incorrect as a call from In-n-Out today revealed.

"Flying Dutchman" - two meat patties with two slices of cheese. that's it.

"Double Meat" - Double Double without cheese

"4x4" - 4 meat patties with 4 slices of cheese. Are you SURE you can eat that?

"2x4" - 2 meat patties with 4 slices of cheese for the fromage afficionado

"Grilled Cheese" - cheeseburger, sans meat

"Fries - well done" - get your fries extra crispy and brown the way you like them!

"Choco-Vanilla Swirl Shake" - just what it sounds like Note: this is not an official secrent menu item, but at most In-n-Out Burgers they will make it if asked for!

"Neopolitan Shake" - a blend of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes.

Yeah, thinking about it myself got me hungry, too! I shouldn't eat it that much(I'm a cyclist), but sometimes I just want to splurge a bit.

Go to the one on Harbor.. just across the street is the Disney Character Warehouse Outlet. We had a great outing as a family(in May) , took a bus (#43) (20 minute ride) to the outlet and bought our souvies at discount.. then strolled across the street to In and Out for our lunch. Hop across Harbor and wait for another bus (bus frequency is about every 15 minutes) for return trip. Bus fare is $1 each/one way.

We bought light chasers for $3 each, bumper sticker for $1.50, HMH ornaments for $3, tiny tins of sour candy 3 for 50¢ (it was buy one get 2 free.. they must have had an overstock of these.. great little gift for co workers)...

Did In N Out and were not disapointed!! It was so good. Can't wait for the next trip.

Glad to hear it. I've only got about 65 days until my next In N Out experience. I can't wait!!

I really must stop visiting this thread! It's making me hungry for a double-double, animal style! I guess I know where I'm going for dinner!;) ;)
