Is there an August '08 waitlist thread?

If there is, I'm sorry. I've searched for it and haven't been able to find one.

We closed on our contract at OKW last week and have our membership # and our club ID, but are waiting for our points to be deposited in our account. I was able to check availability. We're planning on going 8/18-26. We would need a 2-bdrm for 8/18-23 (we have family joining us), and either a 1-bdrm or a studio for 8/23-26. Well the only 2-bdrm they had available was at SSR. That's fine, but we really want to stay at OKW for our first trip "home". The second we get our points I will be making our reservations. It looks like that will be at SSR and then get put on the waitlist for OKW.

Has anyone else been waitlisted for August '08?

I haven't seen another 08-08 waitlist thread so I guess your it! Thanx for starting one!!

We are waitlisted at AKV for a SV Studio for Aug. 10-11-12, 14, 18. We already have Aug. 13 & 15-16-17 booked, so we would like to fill in and around for more days in a row.

Here's hoping this coming week's Free DDP announcement opens up some DVC space for the dates we need!!

We are waitlisted for a studio at BCV for August 4 & 5.

We'll already be there & are scheduled to checkout on the 4th....we'd like 2 extra nights.

I'll join in! We booked 11 nights in a 2BR at BCV, then at the 7-month mark, wanted to switch to a 2BR at AKV for the first 3 nights. Well, when I got a confirmation in the mail, they had us booked in a 1BR rather than a 2BR, so we're booked but waitlisted on the 2BR. There are 6 of us, but we technically fit since DS2 can go in the crib. But it'll be a squeeze and DH and I prefer not to be miserly on the points and then be tripping over each other. Plus, our oldest will be 13, and we'll have a variety of nap requirements, bedtimes, etc.

Looking on the bright side, however, we'll still be at AKV. We all get along reasonably well. If the waitlist doesn't come through, I can come back and report on the experience for future guests. And we'll have a few more points available for our next trip.

How long have you been on the waitlist and are you waitlisted for each day separately or the 6 nights all together?

So you have 2 studios reserved at OKW, but want to move to 2 studios anywhere else except SSR? Do I have that right?

Yes, we have 2 studios. I really was not thinking when I waitlisted. For all practical purposes, there is no way that 2 studios will come available at the same time.

I wonder what I should do. I think that I will have to have them treat each studio separately and see what happens. But if I do that, we may end up at two different resorts which might be OK as we have DSs who are adult, teen and child in one and my DH and I in the other.

What do you think that I should do?

Yippee Skippee!! I came off the waitlist for two more of my dates at AKV!

We now have Aug. 10-11-13-15-16-17 in a SV studio. I just need the 12th and 14th to come through so I have a week+ stay. Oh and maybe the 18th will come through, too.

I did happen to ask about other studios the week of the 10th and OKW & SSR are available.

lovewdwdvc - I would not split up my immediate family between two resorts. Have you thought of trying for a 1-bedroom at AKV that sleeps 5? It's roughly the same points as two studios. Just an idea for you!

daisyduck123 - I asked about the week prior to mine and there was a BCV studio for the night of the 4th. Did you get it by chance? Or were you waitlisted for both nights together?

Well we made our reservations the other day. We're doing a 2-bdrm at SSR Aug. 18-23 and then doing a studio at OKW Aug. 23-26. We were going to try to waitlist for OKW for the 2-bdrm, but decided to just go with SSR. That's why we are going to just do the studio there instead. We thought about trying to get a SV Studio at AKV, but DH said to just keep OKW. I'll let you know if anything changes.

Another date came off waitlist for AKV for me - the 18th in a SV Studio. I keep hoping that the 12th & 14th will show up and then I'll be all set!

We have an OKW studio reserved Aug. 4-7 but are waitlisted for either AKV or VWL. At least we already have a room -- here's hoping those of you waitlisted for days you don't have covered get some pixie dust!

We are staying at AKV club Level from Aug 18-22, and are currently booked for a SV Studio from Aug 22-27, but we are on the waitlist for a 1 BR instead for the 22nd-27th.

Hoping for some of the same pixie dust that some of you have gotten with your dates coming through!

Wah-hoo!!! Gotta love that waitlist!! I got two more of my days - Aug 12 & 14!

So I have August 10-15 in a AKV SV Studio!

I ended up cancelling the 15-16-17-18, because we decided to go the week before instead of after.

So I added Aug 5 & 7 in an OKW HH studio and am waitlisted for the 6th.

I also added a non-DVC ressie for the 2 middle weekend nights at AKL in a Club Level room, with the hopes that an AAA or AP rate comes along.

So our trip is 10 nights Aug 5-15 at OKW-AKL-AKV.

Got rt non-stop airfare from Chicago for $229 and an Executive Emerald Club Selection (full size or better) car rental for $220 incl all taxes, fees and insurance for 10 days.

Wow - this trip has shaped up so nicely. Don't ya love it when everything falls into place???!!!???

I was waitlisted for a 1BR at OKW for only one night in the middle of our stay--August 19. I was able to book it with the cash discount rate, but I would much rather use points. Well, the waitlist came through in about a week!!!

I got my Aug 6th OKW HH Studio from the waitlist, so I have the 3 consective nights I needed.

Now that I def have a place to sleep (lol), I waitlisted those 3 nights at BCV. I really don't expect to get them, but if it comes through that'd be awesome. When I waitlisted, one of the 3 nights at BCV was available, but I did all 3 together rather than day-by-day.
