Once again I need the help of all you Disney Cruise "veterans"!!! We're going on our first Disney Cruise ever and I need to know if we choose not to dine in our assigned dining room is there anywhere else to eat? Our party consists of myself, DS#1 age 15, DS#2 age 12 and DS#1's friend also 15 and I can already tell you my three lit'l men will not be interested in the dining rooms!!! If I'm lucky I may be able to talk DS#2 in to dining with me at least once but only because the other two will want to "ditch" him. I know about Pluto's and Pinocchio's and that's probably what the boys will want but that's not really what I want for dinner. I also know about Room Service but that doesn't sound appealing. Please tell me our options if we don't eat in one of the rotation dining rooms. Are Pluto's and Pinocchio's even open during dinner?

Thanks for saving us from starvation! :flower1:

There is also Topsiders Buffet, which is a casual dining area. You order your main meal, and pick up your own entree from the buffet area. You will be able to view all the different meals available. Pluto and Pinocchio's are open during dinner. So, your options are there. We ate quite a few times at Topsiders, we enjoyed the fact that you could walk in and any time (during dinner times that is)

Wanted to add, that we have only been on the magic, so if it is on the WOnder, I believe this restaurant exists, ony under a different name.

Enjoy your trip, and food will be EVERYWHERE!!! :earboy2:

That's great news!!! I thought all along the Beach Blanket Buffet was only open for breakfast and lunch. I can now rest a lot easier knowing I will not starve! I love these boards!!!

Thanks!
Carla

But, IIRC, BBB on the Wonder is not open for dinner - except for the kids clubs.

Your servers will be very understanding of the boy's needs. Take them to the dining room. Tell your servers the first evening - "the boys don't have "time" for a long dining experience, can you bring out all their courses at once?" My bet is that they can be in and out of the dining rooms in 40 minutes - with two or three courses in their stomachs. I know they do this for the "child menu" set - a lot of adults are taking their kids to the clubs between their entree and dessert - the kids entree was brought out with the soup/salads and their Mickey bar came with the adult entrees.

And you may be surprised. Fifteen year old boys. Unlimited food.......they may eat for longer than you think.

According to the passporter Topsiders/Beach Blanket Buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner...and some late night buffets. Also keep in mind that just because the boys don't want to join you in the dinning room dosn't mean you have to skip them also....and don't forget about Palo (the adult only restraunt)

Has something changed on the Wonder? BBB is SUPPOSED to be open for dinner. Anyone been on the Wonder recently?

It isn't listed as an option on the Navigators on Dave's site.

Since the kids clubs take them to dinner, I would also pick a few evenings to let the boys go with that group and have dinner yourself in the main dining rooms so you can experience them. Or, you could always eat early with the boys wherever they want to go, send them to the clubs, and then eat in the dining rooms yourself so you have "family time", but you still get the benefit of the food and the atmosphere, etc.

When we were on the Magic the end of August Topsiders Buffet was fully served to you at Dinner, however it was in a much less formal setting. We really enjoyed it.

Wonder = JULY 2004 No Beach Blanket for dinner. Sorry, We would really like this option for March too. Maybe they will reconsider?

Thanks for all the great replies!!! I might just take your suggestions and do dinner at least one night even if I have to go alone. Gee, I was really hoping Beach Blanket would be open for dinner. I like idea of the less formal setting.

Thanks!
Carla

Considering the boys ages...I wouldn't be suprised if you found yourself alone for most of the dinners. They will be busy socializing and meeting new friends out and around the ship making pit stops at scoops and the pizza joint through out the day...not to mention haveing a blast with roomservice. Even if you venture off to the dinning rooms alone...you may not be eatting alone. You never know you may have wonderful table mates to enjoy dinning with. If your assigned a table for just you and the boys...you could always request being moved to have fellow cruiser to dine with.
