And no I don't mean Disney park hopping. :) I want to check out other parks like Universal and Sea World while I'm staying at Disney but it just seems sooo expensive. :sad2: Cab fare all over the place and multiple park tickets etc just adds up. Are there cheaper ways of doing this that I just haven't heard of? Any package deals or something along those lines?

There's also the Orlando Flex ticket which includes both Universal parks,Sea World,Aquatica,Wet n Wild and you can include Busch Gardens as well. The ticket gives you unlimited admission to the parks for two weeks. As far as getting around except for Busch Gardens all the other parks are located on or near the International Drive area where they do have the I Ride trolley to get you around. This area is full of hotels so if you stay there it can be pretty convenient to get around.

Check any rewards programs that you are part of to see if you can redeem points or airmiles towards your park tickets.

Here is Canada, we have Airmiles and Aeroplan Miles that can be redeemed for park tickets. Both rewards programs offer Universal and Sea World tickets and the Airmiles program also offers Disney tickets. I didn't realize until last summer that I could get those tickets through the rewards programs so check any rewards programs that you are part and hopefully, it will be offered on them and you can redeem for them.

If not, as PP mentioned, Orlando Flex ticket is an excellent value.

I have also had good luck getting a rental car from the airport for $100-$150 for 8 days of car rental. If you watch for deals, you can get your car rental as low as $10.95 a day. You do have to pay for parking at Universal & Seaworld though - if you are staying at Disney, parking is free for the Disney parks.

Have a great trip. :flower3:

You can do universal/sea world/busch gardens or you can do Disney. It costs a ton to mix them. This is done on purpose, of course. Disney does not want you to leave WDW. This is why they have magical express and "free" dining. The cost of tickets is much less for multiple days.

Both are are fun vacations, just don't do them at the same time.

we rent a economy car for usually $12 a day. it is definitely worth it. it saves you time on busses and gets you to the other parks
