Is there "always" a ticket sale for short-time use?

Okay, here's the situation:

DW and I are going to the DLR in August. I currently see the "special" for if you buy the tickets that must used by 4/14. Obviously I know I can't use that. Should I expect (maybe "expect" isn't the right word, but...) that after that point they could offer another "special" that covers my visit? I'd hate to pay $40 more just to find out there's another sale...

You never know, although the summer is high travel time, so that may be a reason not to lower prices (why let people pay less when they will pay more type thing)
Just wait until you are leaving and buy print at home tickets. That way you are sure that the price you are paying can't be beat!

If I was confident there would not be a "sale," I would have bought now just to qualify for the last bonus gift card from my new Southwest Visa. I'd just hate to have that decision "cost me" $80 total.

I guess I'm just not very patient...

Most DL visits are 1 day, folllowed by 2 day weekend visits. So often DLR has 3 day or longer hoppers on sale. So if you are going for more than a couple days it's likely you will find a sale that may help.

Sometimes they do a everyone pays the kids price on 3 day and up hoppers.

Yeah, in this case it'd be 6 (3 days leading up to the D23 Expo plus the 3 days themselves). I guess I'll just wait and see...

The website mouseplanet posts a Disneyland update every week (and has for years). They archive these on their site if you want to see what discounts were available last August or any other year prior. Last year, the only really good discounts were for those who lived in ZIP Codes 90000–93599 (or anyone who took advantage of GADGAD free ticket promotion). -- Suzanne

Thanks; didn't think about the archive. I just found this in a June update:

6-Day Park Hopper® Bonus Ticket for the Price of 3 Days ( $199/$169) Disneyland's Summer Park Hopper Bonus ticket offer includes two days free and one Magic Morning admission. These tickets are valid for use from May 1, 2010 thru September 30, 2010. The tickets are NOT available at the Resort ticket booths, you must pre-purchase from the Disneyland Web site.

I see it first mentioned on a forum posting there on 4/29/10. Hope the scheduling's similar if anything's happening (though now I wonder since they have Star Tours and Mermaid opening), but that's still almost 2 months away... Waaaaaa!

we are going at the end of May. I am planning on booking through getawaytoday.com is there any chance that a new ticket offer will come out for late spring? I know getawaytoday offers the discounts when they are out, so I could wait. But I want a specific hotel, and am worried that if I wait to book, the room availability will be gone! What do you think?

Summer specials usually start Mid April-May for advertising and usually run through the 1st two weeks in September for 3+ PH's. I wait to the last moment and get the e-tickets for the family. Patience is a virtue even when you are traveling and using tickets, hotel rooms are not, they get disounted but there is no availability on the dates I want to travel. I made my reservations in January to get what I want.
