Is there a weight limit on the pulldown beds?

Semi-crazy scenarios, but I can see my youngest teenager wanting the sleep in the new (at least to us) pull down beds, probably meant for children.

Is there a weight limit? I want to be able to warn him. He's too tall, but again I can see him wanting to try it out. He's still a kid at heart.

I don't think so. The bed is pretty close to floor level when opened and the mattress is a nice thickness. Is your teen just tall? If he is a six footer he will probably just hang over the ends. My 5'9" daughter tested it out and said it was okay but didn't actually sleep there.

I have not seen a weight limit set out by Disney. I assume there is one somewhere but the bed you are talking about can easily hold the weight of adults; i.e., they are not meant exclusively for children. The bed is about 6 feet long which is just a little shorter than a standard twin.

Great! He's fairly lean but close to 6 foot. If he wants to try it, I will let him. Thanks. I won't say anything. He may think it looks too babyish because we're at the VGF. I think the Dumbo motif is adorable & he'll always be my "Baby of Mine"

I actually enjoyed sleeping in that bed!!! And I'm over 150 lbs and 5'8'' tall.

The frame seems pretty sturdy but my guess is that they don't expect adults to sleep there.

I doubt it, I have seen some trashed DVC rooms, even an upholstered chair sitting in the rain on a patio. I reported it to the front desk and it sat there for 3 days.

My DS slept on it when he was about 16yo and about 5'11'' and 180 lbs he said was comfortable..... just had to sleep a bit on the diagonal.

For what is worth, a CM when we took the Poly Bungalows tour, said the murphy bed could hold 300 lbs. when a 6'1" man asked before he laid down on it. He fit, but there was no room to move.

I slept on the one at the Poly, I'm 5'6 and about 140. I loved it, it was so cozy and I could use the reading light without DH complaining!

I slept on the one at GF, I'm 5'4", 200 lbs. It was fine, much easier/faster to get set up in the middle of the night than the pull out sofa. I don't think it is designed just for children, it's the extra bed, most extra beds are less desirable than the real ones, but plenty adequate.

I am the exact same size as you, well maybe an extra couple of pounds. We were in a renovated BCV studio in late May and I slept on it so my DS16 could have a regular bed for one night before we moved over to a studio at AKV. I found it quite comfortable and wouldn't have a problem sleeping on it for an entire vacation. As for a sofa bed . . . no way am I sleeping on one of those.

I sleep on these beds often at Disney, I like them. But I am 5'5".

The double one at Art of A is particularly comfortable.

My 6'2" DS slept on the BWV one in Dec -- feet hanging off, but that was his choice! He slept well.

I can't imagine that Disney would put furniture in its resorts that a large adult couldn't safely use. My dh, at 6'4", isn't going to be comfortable on one of those beds. Neither would my ds, 6', 280 lbs! But, for average adults, shouldn't be an issue.

The bed mural would be enjoyed by children and adults but I would think that it is there for children. In addition the bed is pretty narrow and while an adult can fit, turning over might be an issue.

I see the bed the same as a bunk bed, while adults can sleep there, not many probably do.

Is it the most comfy bed for an adult? Probably not. But, since Disney can't be sure how 'large' a child is going to be, that bed is going to have to be able to support a large adult...just in case. Can you see the law suit when a large teenager fell as the bed collapsed? Not so good.
I know that when I share a room, with another adult, I tend to take that murphey bed. I find it more comfortable than the sleep sofa. But I'm not a restless sleeper, so it works just fine for me.
But, as you said, it's probably assumed that children will use the bed...at least most of the time.

While I am Pooh-sized, I am also 5'0 (5'1 on a good day), so the length should not be a problem for me at all. I personally am fine sleeping on sofas and am fine on the pull down beds on DCL; I don't need a lot of room, just a soft place to crash.
