the dern DVC member site? I'd say at least half the time I try to access it it is unavailable. Surely we can do better than that.

Honestly it's been ages since the last time I was completely blocked from entering the member site. :confused3 And I usually check it at least a couple of times per day.

Every so often a specific feature may be unavailable, but I can't recall the last time I was blocked entirely.

One piece of advice: If you have the site bookmarked, make sure your bookmark is to www.dvcmember.com. When you type that into your browser, you get automatically redirected to a different (much more complex) web address. It could be those redirects which are changing and preventing your bookmark from working. Also, FWIW, I use Firefox a my web browser.

Yes; the regular Disney/WDW Site :lmao: :D

It seems to be an ongoing issue with Disney--- pretty much any Disney site.

For some reason we tend to vacation plan on Sunday afternoon when the main disney site is almost always slow or completely down. I don't recall ever having a problem with the DVC portion.

I use firefox as well. I tried your recommendation instead of my bookmark and I'm still getting the SORRY page.

You could try the usual stuff like deleting your cookies and temp files. Do you have other user IDs for Disney websites (Disney.com, ESPN.com, etc.) which may be conflicting with your DVCMember logon?

Sorry, those are the only things I can think of. I've been on the member site probably 6-8 times today and it's worked every time. It HAS been asking me to log-on (username and password) quite frequently of the past 2 days, but I have yet to experience a problem actually getting into the site.

Sorry but you're having other issues.

As much as the DVC member site sucks (and it does in the sense that it is, for the most part, worthless), it does work and very reliably from my experiences. I login EVERY day and I can't remember the last time I had any issues with the site working.

Many sites these days are only certified to be compatiable with 1 or 2 major browsers. I know Disney certifies on IE and while I don't have time to go through the available source, I can see some stuff on there that could be IE proprietary.

If you're using Windows, you likely should be using IE as your primary browser. It is available for download on other platforms as well.

Could you please post the complete text from the browser window that is the error you are receiving? It would certainly help me in diagnosing your issue further. :)

It was down for me today as well.
First time....and I needed some info ASAP

I have the problem much more at work than at home. I was able to gain access at home but not completely. I went looking at an area about my loan and was unable to actual get to the loan page itself.

"We're sorry.

The page you are trying to access is currently not available."

And this happens when you try to go to http://www.dvcmembers.com and not some bookmarked derivation thereof, right?

You probably have one of the following issues:

1) A configuration problem with the IP stack in your MAC or PC
2) A problem with the LAN/router configuration in your home/office
3) A problem with your ISP (unlikely but possible) and/or DNS provider
4) A problem with some sort of timer on a filtering package (nanny filter, maybe?)
5) A problem with some sort of internet firewall software you may have installed on your machine (McAfee, Symantec, etc.). Turn it OFF.
6) Spyware/malware on your PC if you have a PC (MOST likely)

Are you running a PC? If so, are you running Windows? Does it work in IE? Can you go anywhere and everywhere else when this happens?

If you're running a MAC, all of the above questions except does it work in Safari instead of IE?

Tell me as much as you can about your computer and how your computer is connected to the internet and please be as complete as you can.

Please tell me your technical competency level on computers and TCP/IP on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being an advanced expert and please be honest so I can access how to proceed.

Thanks.

You mentioned Firefox somewhere as being when the problem happens. Does Safari work when Firefox fails? Isn't Safari installed on all Macs by default (like IE)?

I'll admit I'm not a Mac guy but I don't think this is a Mac v. PC problem, though it certainly may be.

Can you go to other sites when DVCMembers fails?

I've never had a problem logging into the DVC member website.
