all of the resorts are offered directly.

OKW pts (and all OKW direct purchases are extended to 2057) cost $100 per pt directly.

that's where DVC's focus is, yes. that's what the salesmen are compensated to sell.

but DVC is constantly reacquiring points from so-called "sold out" resorts like OKW and BCV. some through ROFR when they agree to buy the contract out from under an interested resale buyer and some through foreclosures on owners who run into money troubles.

if you want to buy at a "sold out" resort, you have to be firm that you are only interested in that one resort. but it is possible...both for current owners looking for an add-on contract and for potential new owners.

you will pay considerably more by going direct, but i'm assuming you know that.

We were at DVC last week on a tour and the Guide told us only Animal Kingdom and Bay Lake Tower were the ones for sale. But, as one had said all may be for sale if specifically asked. We're still on the fence of purchasing.

There certainly is! And thank you so much for all of the wonderful info. After that long drive home to NY from FL, I thought that I'd had it all figured out after our meet with the sales rep at SSR. These forums have brought up so many things that I never would have thought about!
