Is there a way to store liquid coffee that is decent?

So big storm coming to Northeast. I love my Wawa coffee. The new Signature Blend does not come in Kcup form. I was thinking freezing into cubes or refrigeration. I know its silly but my coffee is part of my emergency preparedness plan LOL- any recommendations are welcome

confused here-are you looking to do this because you fear you will be without electricity? if so, how do you plan on reheating it?

I think they are concerned about road conditions and not able to get to the local wawa. Due to the storm. In desperation one could use a candle to heat up coffee. Never tried it but I suppose you could freeze it.

Your post is confusing. Are you asking about how to preserve a cup of coffee you bought at Wawa? I suppose you could refrigerate it, and reheat, but can't imagine it would taste very good.

Why not just buy their ground coffee and brew at home? You can always get an inexpensive french press if you don't have a coffeemaker.

Road conditions yes:).

I just tested microwaving some of the signature blend and adding some cure keurig wawa decaf and it was bitter and terrible- gaggy really

Once brewed, coffee or espresso starts changing in taste so if you freeze it or refrigerate it and then reheat it, the taste will be different...much different. I suppose you can either sacrifice taste for a few days in order to have Wawa coffee (I've never heard of Wawa but I'm on the West Coast and also grind my own beans and have an espresso machine) or just use a different K-cup for a few days.

the only thing I can think of would be to pour cups into stainless steel thermoses (they seem to hold the heat best for the longest period of time). I've had coffee stay hot in my starbuck's bullet style stainless steel for 2 days (was getting on the colder side by the end of the 2nd). the only caution is-if you use dairy or sugar in your coffee DO NOT put it in a thermos for an extended time-it can end up cooking into a gross gelatinous gunk:(

I drink DD ice coffee and my dh buys it so I can make instead of going to the store. I make 2 weeks worth and leave it in my fridge in plastic containers and pour each morning. I know not the most healthiest but thats what I do.

Does WaWa sell the coffee in the Box of Joe? Perhaps you can purchase that and leave in the container. Or, get a Bubba Keg cup and fill up a few. Also, just purchase about 5-10 cups as big as you usually buy and just bring home and keep in fridge.

Good luck with the weather. I live in New York so right there with ya!

However you store it, how are you going to warm it up?

You could get a french press pot. Put ground coffee in the bottom, add boiling water and in a couple minutes you have good coffee. Whatever method you were using to heat up the coffee could likely be used to boil water. I have a gas stove so can always get something heated that way. YMMV obviously

I make hot coffee in the morning in a large french press. It makes more than I want to drink in the morning, so some of the coffee gets poured into a glass jar (you don't want to let it sit in the press) and left in the fridge to reheat, or make iced coffee. It's not quite as good as fresh brewed, but not bad if you start with decent coffee.

The only way to have coffee taste good cold after a prolonged time is to have coffee made from a cold brew method.

You can buy a contraption like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Toddy-Coffee-...8&qid=1422363404&sr=8-1&keywords=coffee+toddy

Or you can Youtube or Google how to do it without a toddy maker.

It makes a very non bitter concentrate and if you want hot coffee you just add about 2/3 hot water to the 1/3 mix.

I love it this way as it tastes so smooth and doesn't bother my stomach nearly as much as brewed coffee.

I would use a Thermos and just use another type when you run out. I have a Keurig and there are some cups that are pretty good and I am a coffee snob! Assuming you have a generator if the power goes out.

I miss Wawa!!

No advice, really, but I can add that if power goes out, it's amazing what you can cook on a gas grill! Thanks to Hurricane Bertha (3 day) and Hurricane Fran (5 day) power outages we had to cook it or lose it!
