Is there a way to see what b-day cakes are available?

I scrolled through all 30+ pages of the birthday cake thread and I can't see straight anymore  . Every time I thought I found THE cake for DD's birthday I found another one that I liked. Does Disney have a website to see what cakes they offer, or do you just call and give them a theme and they come up with something on their own?

Also, is it best to go through the restaraunt or a bakery? We are having her b-day dinner at O'Hana. Is there another bakery other than the one at Boardwalk.

Thanks for your help!

I've scrolled through that list too. Yikes. There is another bakery besides boardwalk, it's at the Grand Floridian. There is not (to my knowledge) a website where you can look at the cakes Disney offers. I am thinking about ordering a cake next year for our 10th anniversary and I just plan to call the GF bakery and order it through them.

I'm not sure if this number works, but I got it off these boards--this would give you to O'hana's (supposedly) to reserve a cake there. OHana's 407-824-2165

If you want the GF bakery number that at least one person got to work, it is: 407-824-3000. If you order a cake from the GF bakery they can have it delivered to one of the GF restaurants. I believe I read that they are not preparing cakes for pickup.

A basic number to try is:
(407) WDW-BDAY

Hope that helps!

I couldn't ever find a site specifically for birthday cakes, but I did run on to this site for wedding cakes done by the Grand Floridian Bakery. It was at least fun to look at and I did get a few ideas and had them just incorporate them into the birthday cake I ordered.

Lila...just a thought..for my DD3's birthday we ate at 1900 PF. I ordered her the slipper dessert since I thought a $40.00 cake would go to waste. The slipper was perfect..she still talks about it to this day. It was white chocolate and filled with mousse. I don't know how to post pictures on here but I do have a picture of it. I think it was $14.00. They put candles in it and timed it so Cinderella & Prince Charming brought it to the table. I also ordered my DS the "bones" (pastry type in the shape of bones, served on a Dalmation plate.) That was about $10.00. All in all, it was a great deal and one I would do over again. We pre-ordered them from the GF Bakery. I don't think you can do that for Ohana's but I thought I read on here that someone ordered from the Boardwalk Bakery (not sure if this is correct), picked it up, and brought it to their restaurant. Ohana's does do a cupcake (free), and they also call everyone up who's having a birthday and the whole restaurant sings to them. My DD also received a leis.

When we went in 2004 it was my SIL's b-day and we went to O'Hana - I called beforehand - from a number I probably got from here or either passporter - and they had a beautiful, but big, cake for her.

Thanks for all the tips...this really helps. Any by the way Sinderelli, your kids are adorable! I love the picture.

Agree on the chocolate slipper.
We celebrated my sister's b-day last year at CRT (pre all princess) for dinner. We ordered the slipper and that was much more special than a cake we all thought. :)

We go every year for dd's birthday, last year we ate at 1900 PF and ordered a rather large cake since we had family along with us to celebrate. This year we'll be at CRT for her birthday dinner, not sure what to order there. I know about the slipper, has anyone else ordered a special cake there?

We'll be at O'Hana's for DNephew's b-day in October this year. I think my DBro will put me in charge of the cake .... do I need to order before we leave from home, or just a couple days in advance of that particular meal?

I ordered our cake at O'Hana the week before we left. I remember calling and asking ahead, and they suggested that I call a few days beforehand.
