Is there a way to check AP rates without an AP?

I dont' have an AP, but we're planning to go for at least 2 days on our trip next spring and I'd consider getting an AP if there is a good hotel discount.
Is there a way to check for AP rates?

Thanks. So if I use the code "APH" and the prices are the same as without the code, does that just mean there aren't any AP discounted rates for that particular date?
How far ahead of time to AP rates usually come out?

yes-if the rates are the standard rates then the AP rates haven't been released. Usually, these rates are released 1-3 months ahead.

I usually call 1 800 232-7827 and ask if the APH rates are available for my dates. I have never been asked to verify that I had a valid AP at the time of reservation. I am typically told to bring the AP (or AAA or E card) with me when checking in.

As of about 30 minutes ago, the AP rates for my dates in July '06 were not available.
