Is there a trick to getting Chef Mickey's ADR??

I have tried every few days for over a month to get either a bfast or dinner on ANY of our 8 days at Disney in May and can't get a single availability for Chef Mickey's.
I prefer them for b'fast but will take dinner, this is the one place all my kids agree on wanting to go to.
Do more tables open up or do I have to wait and see if anyone cancels?? Is there any trick to getting this one??

I'm curious too.....I've never had an issue getting Chef Mickey's for breakfast.....especially the later times like 10:00/10:30.......I looked at two weeks worth of dates and there is nothing.

Have you tried Tusker House in AK? It has almost the same characters and the buffet is better. Breakfast ADR's end at 10:30am.

I like going later as the restaurant isn't so busy and the characters have more time to visit.

You just have to keep waiting for a cancellation at this point. They are not holding tables to open up ... especially this close to the date. We are going in May too and I was able to snag a prime 5pm slot by chance! I wasn't looking at all.... nice little pixie dust. Just keep checking back and maybe you'll get some too!

Good luck! I am sure it is frustrating trying to get something that your kid's really want.

But with Tusker house you could get the early ressie and make it inside AK before rope drop, just a thought!

Rather than trying every few days, I would recommend checking online everyday. People's plans change all the time so it's a matter of luck that you're checking when someone else is cancelling. The more often you check, the better your chances are of getting what you want. Good luck!

Keep checking - things open up all the time! I tried for months to get Chef Mickey's for our last trip - A week before we left a bunch of times opened up and I got my pick of days and times.

I do have a Tusker ADR for 8:10am on our AK day (park opens at 9am I think). My kids just love Chef Mickey's and at 3 different ages its the ONE and ONLY thing they agree on.

I'll just keep checking, maybe as we get closer and people finalize their plans someone will cancel.

People do cancel for a number of reasons, so a last minute reservation is possible. I suggest doing an online search with the meal period (breakfast, then dinner) instead of time. If you leave the restaurant field blank, it will show you every restaurant with an availability. Check on it a few times a day. It should never take more than a couple of minutes each time. When it is closer to your travel dates (or you no longer have Internet access), call.

They usually do not hold back tables unless they are planning special events like the Candlelight Processional. Since that does not apply to this restaurant, no tables are held back here.

We are going in June for 10 days and we planned late. This was the hardest ADR for me to find. When we booked the trip 3/11, the only ADR I could get was a 7:30 breakfast for one day. Since we are flying and staying at POP, I was not looking forward to trying to get there for such an early ADR. I have looked online every day since for something different and I am able to check each day of our trip in just a minute or two total. On 3/23, I found a 7:00 dinner ADR for a different day of our trip. Although I like this better, I worry about whether we'll be seated late and then get out late and then try to head back to POP in a crowd, so I would take this but I kept looking. Yesterday, I found a 5:30 dinner ADR for our check-in day. This is perfect!

So, keep trying! You will probably find something!

I can relate. I do have a reservation for 10:30 on our first day, which is really less than an ideal time for our family but we took what we could (pretty much the only reservation for CM the entire time we were there at the time, though one did open up later in the week.)

My mom decided a couple of weeks ago to join us (we are going May 24-30) and i was unable to get that reservation upped to 6 people, so we may not be going at all as I don't want to leave my mom behind . (wasn't able to get breakfast at Tusker House our entire trip either).

I just keep checking online every day...even a couple of times a day when I have a minute...and hopefully one will open up eventually since DS is a huge Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan so he will go nuts when he sees all the characters walking around the restaurant .

Out of the 5 reservations that I changed to include my mom, only Chef Mickey's wasn't able to accomodate, so it could have been worse!
