Is there a sweet spot? MK/EMH/Party night

We are offsite, but have hoppers. We are thinking of starting at AK, ending at Epcot, but I'm wondering if hopping to MK in between would be beneficial. I assume most people who choose the park on a morning EMH day (that also is a party night) would be hopping somewhere else. So would there be a decent window, say 12-4 or 1-5 where it might be worthwhile to go? Or am I trying to jam too much into one day?

Those with party tickets can get in as early as 4pm. DVC blue card holders with party tickets can get in at 2pm. Of course, party guests with APs can get in at any time.

My personal opinion is your better touring time on party days is at rope drop and hit it hard. Things get busy afternoon+.

Since you can’t utilize EMH, that puts you behind a bit. Might be trying to jam too much in a day, from my perspective.

Or you could stick stick with your plan and get a few things accomplished - 4 hours in the MK is always better than no hours in the MK. :-)

If you were talking about a season without parties and therefore, not a party night, I'd say you might find a sweet spot. But those who choose to do MK on a party-night day usually stay the entire day until about 4:00 and then hop elsewhere. Those attending the party can get into MK at 4:00 p.m. and DVC get in at 2:00 with their party ticket.

Thirding the recommendation to start at MK. Last October, our first park day was a party day and we hit it hard at rope drop. The place was absolutely dead and we got SO MUCH done. We ended up leaving at around 5 to spend the evening back at our resort (we had Ohana room service at the Poly) but we could have just as easily hopped to Epcot or elsewhere.

Hoppers are a must during party season imo. Crowds are a dream at MK on party days because so many people avoid it. Take advantage if you can.

I would agree with everyone and recommend getting to MK on a party day at RD and hopping elsewhere around 4pm. IMO 3 parks in one day is a bit too much. Now, if this is your only day at WDW and you want to spend a little time in each of these parks then I'd hop around as long as you know what to expect.

Thank you for all of the replies. We are going to MK at RD the day before the one I am trying to figure out, and that also happens to be a party day, so that day sounds ideal based on your replies. I'm thinking it still sounds worthwhile to hit MK again, and then hop to AK in the late afternoon, and move Epcot to another day. 3 probably is too much!

We did end up doing another half day or so in MK (broken up by a lengthy break at GF) just to see HEA in addition to the party we actually did attend and it worked out great. Think of that second day as a “mop up” session to hit whatever you didn’t on the party day, or revisit favorites.

Just know that the EMH on that second day (which you can't use) will impact your touring. Doesn't mean you shouldn't do it, but your experience on these two days will be different. I'd be inclined to hit Tomorrowland first on that second day since EMH people "should" be finishing up with either that or Fantasyland during their EMH time. But you could also start with Adventure or Frontier on that day. EMH people can't get to those lands before regular opening time, so you'd be on even footing with them.
