I think it would be very hard to arrange. You would have to find a specific individual who owns VGC, has immediate plans to stay at BLT and is willing to agree to the transaction. Also the odds of both members using the same number of points are extremely small, so you'd have to make accommodations for the variance.

And at the end of the day, it's no more than 2 rental transactions. Both trips would be booked under the individual who owns the points.

Better to approach it as two separate rentals, IMO. Find someone looking for a BLT stay and rent them your points. Then use the monies to rent another owner's points for VGC.

It comes up quite often and works almost never. I've seen a few private trades between DVC owners and a few DVC for non DVC timeshares. Since you can't transfer in and out of the same master the same UY, it is problematic and often it's simply a bidirectional rental. Easier just to rent out what you have and do the same the other direction independently. Invariably one or both sides values their owned option out of proportion to the other. Same with swapping pink slips.

You might be able to make it work, but you'll need to find someone else who, not only wants to trade exactly 50 points, has the resort you want, and wants the resort you have, but also has two separate memberships or use years.

Just rent out your 50 points or so and find someone willing to rent the 50 points you want.

I would imagine working out a point for point reservation swap would be fairly difficult....you could try and rent an existing reservation, but that would be tough for an exact week as well....you could do what the person above stated, and rent 50 points, then use that money to rent points from a person who has the points you need

We are looking to go to aulani in July 2018. We have bwv and blt points and would be thrilled if we could swap.

Aulani in July is tough for the studios and 2bd std and less point intensive options.

Maybe theres someone out there who wants a room during food n wine? Blt during xmas?

Would I need to post in the rent trade board for this sort of swap?

There's really no reason to, just rent out what you have and rent what you want. The pool is so much larger and the end result is the same at worst and it's so much easier and safer to do so. I'd only worry about it where it's among friends/family or for non DVC to/from DVC.

I tried to do a trade earlier. I had VGF and wanted BCV but it was tough sledding. Much easier to just buy points from someone via transfer and then transfer or rent your points.
