Is there a "slow" season in Disney?

When my kids were little, about 15 years ago, I used to take them out of school and go to Disney in May. We never wanted to do crowds with little ones and wanted nice weather. I always heard that right before Christmas its slow, but the weather can be cold. We have been going alot in the past few years and have seen the parks become more crowded at different times of of the year than before. After our trip next weekend for MNSSHP we are going again at the end of January. That will probably be one of the least crowded times of the year, hopefully!
