I know, kind of a crazy question....

I am grateful for NETFLIX and my public television station for carrying shows from Britain...THEY ARE HILARIOUS!! :happytv:

I know I cannot be the only one in love with these shows from the other side of the world...so I was wondering what are some of your favorite shows? (And for any friends from other countries, is there any "american" shows that you LOVE)

Here are some of my favorites over the years....

*Keeping up Appearances
*Absolutely Fabulous
*Are you being served?

Any others? Why? :confused3

X Factor! So much better than American Idol.

I've kind of gotten hooked on a Korean series (with English subtitles) called "Dong Yi" that's airing right now. It's sort of a Cinderella type story that's set in the late 1600s (I think). It's a bit slow but interesting and the costumes are gorgeous!

Oh, after typing I realized you probably mean on of the British shows...always loved Dr. Who!

I used to be a big fan of Red Dwarf, Are You Being Served?, Doctor Who and Waiting For God. Unfortunately, a stint with a $%(*&$ cable company interrupted my viewing, and I just haven't gotten back into the habit of watching them again.

At various points in time, I've been hooked on Ab Fab, Coupling, and Red Dwarf.

I ment anything you enjoy watching that isn't produced or distributed here in the states (or home country)....that Korean one you were mentioning sounds quite interesting...:3dglasses

These are all great so far guys...so many wonderful shows out there! :wizard:

If you have netflix, you definitely need to check out Black Adder! Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry at their best.

Might have to check that out!

I got into "MI-5" after watching "Spooks" on BBCAmerica. (for those who don't know, it's the same show, just different names)

My hubby got me hooked "MI-5".
My parents got me hooked on "Torchwood"- I love Capt. Jack :lovestruc

Pretty mainstream, but I enjoy the British version of The Office. When I was little, I used to love watching Coronation Street. It came on before the Cosby Show and I watched it every day after school!

Has anyone seen CHEF! ? And you thought Hell's Kitchen was bad? :rotfl2: Actually, it feels like a parody of Chef Ramsey...it is funny!

Or the movie Strictly Ballroom from Australia? I LOVE that movie!

I am such a fan of the Vicar of Dibley. It's one of my top 3 favorite shows, (Golden Girls, Vicar of Dibley and Masterpiece Theatre.) :)

There was also a show on a loooong time ago called "Man About the House." It was the British show that Three's Company was based on. I liked that one quite a bit.

ETA: I just thought of a great kids show that I watched when I was young called "The Tomorrow People." That was done by the BBC. Loved it!

I used to love watching The Young Ones on MTV when I was in high school. I love Rik Mayall!:lmao:He's awesome!
