Is there a parking fee at Fort Wilderness Campground

My sister and her family are staying at another WDW hotel and they have a car. If they visit us a FW, do they need to pay to park?

The parking fee is applied only to overnight guests (when it's applied).

If they pull up to the guard at the gate and say, "I'm here to see the yaksack family in site 1422" (for example), they will verify that and then let them in. They may be told to park in the lot and bus to you but if you have room for them to park at your site or you moved your car up to the parking lot to make room for them, they can drive on down to your site.

It's generally the same process at all the WDW resorts. So give them your site number in advance to give to the guard.

I really wish people would abide by the "1 vehicle per site rule" without having to be policed by Security. Ft. Wilderness is so expensive these days, it is very frustrating to feel like you're camping in a used car lot. (All those extra vehicles take away from the beauty of the Fort.) A little consideration for your camping neighbors goes a long way!

I think you are "preaching to the choir", @skyp4WDW. Most of us on here totally agree, but there are obviously some at the Fort that view "parking as many as will fit" as a paid for privilege.
