Hi, my family and I are going to WDW in July next month. I have two questions hopefully someone can help me with. First, of all, I saw on a site that there is a new ride coming out this year in..... I believe it's FantasyLand at Magic Kingdom. It's a 3D ride with Mickey, Donald, Goofy, etc. It apparently is taking place of the Lion King show. I may not know what I'm talking about but I'm trying to remember what I read. If this new ride exists could someone tell me how it is???? Thanx.

My second question was also apparently Tower Of Terror at MGM was beefed up a little bit since Dec. 31, 2002. I'm not sure if it's true, but I heard there's more drops, they've added some more special effects and there's new stuff like air blowing in people's faces and a weird smell to the place now. I'm not totally sure if this is true or not, hopefully someone can help me. Tower of Terror was my favorite ride at WDW. If it's evolved, please tell me so I can look more forward to our trip.

If you haven't heard of any of these things tell me so I'll know. Thanks everyone.

The 3D show is coming, but won't be open in July.

ToT is now different every time. SOMETIMES you get really wild things now. We found that if your elevator goes up (after it's in the shaft ready to drop) before it goes down, you get a ride with spectacular effects.

The ToT is my favorite ride too. I was worried that they might have changed it for the worse but NO! It's even better then it was before. :teeth: :Pinkbounc

It think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

The new attraction is going to be Mickey's PhilharMagic. TOT 4 is awesome. There are 4 different drop sequences and you don't know which one you are going to have. 2 of them start up and 2 start down. There is only one that includes and complete 13 story drop.

Hi,
You're referring to Mickey's Philharmagic, a new 3D interactive attraction at the Magic Kingdom. I don't believe it's open yet. It was originally scheduled for the beginning of 2003 but it's now slated for early October.

Also, the ToT has indeed been changed but for the better. There are now 4 (I believe) versions, each with different drop sequences and special effects. It's the only attraction that was designed that allows Imagineers to constantly upgrade it's features. From what I understand, the changes between extremely subtle to very noticeable. I can't wait to check it out in October!

I like ToT 4 WAY better!!!!! It was great!!

Also look for the opportunity to ride Epcot's newest attraction, Mission: Space. It's located between Test Track and the Wonders of Life Pavilion. While not officially opened, they are testing the ride on guests almost on a daily basis. Hours vary, so check with a cast member at the entrance for the daily schedule. By all accounts it's the best ride on property right now.

How can you make sure that you get to experience the newest version of TOT? Should you go to different preshow rooms, should you ride many times in a row, or do you just ask???? Is it all just random and you need to hope for the best????

The new version of TOT is currently in place for everyone. Within this new version are subtle variations that make each time you ride it a little bit different. You never know going in which exact version you'll be experiencing. The computer seems to be in control of that.
